A Cuban in China: Shenzhen, The Megacity

The last time we talked we were on our way to Shenzhen, so let's talk about this city and I'm sure the curiosities it has will surprise you.

Starting with the fact that it is a city with over 20 million inhabitants and one of the several megacities in China. Even with what I've told you, this city continues to grow, although it may not seem like it. There are many skyscrapers and large buildings that are still under construction, and this is due to the importance this city is gaining because of its location in the South of China and its proximity to Hong Kong.

Its history is that of a town that, being close to Hong Kong, used to buy different phone parts or technological products to assemble a final product that could be sold. This is how they gradually created industries that produce hundreds of thousands of technological products daily, and smartphones are just one of those products. There are industrial parks in its surroundings with hundreds of high-tech Chinese companies working. Not to mention that there are technology parks where companies have their administrative offices and some small automated industrial plants within the city. I was lucky to visit the offices of one of these companies, but that will be another post. Today I want to finish by showing you some of the buildings that I liked the most in this city.

Let me know which ones you liked the most and what you think.
