In a previous post, I mentioned that many birds, particularly pigeons, are often attracted to the building where I currently live, probably because of the presence of a park a short distance away, as well as some vacant lots nearby, covered with vegetation and bushes that surely provide shelter for many animals.

It is common to see pigeons of various colors resting and sheltering from the intense sun on the pavement of the parking lot and on the windows and ledges of the building. Also, from time to time, hawks can be seen in flight stalking our feathered friends, surely looking for fresh meat to feed on.

A few days ago, I had the surprise, whether pleasant or unpleasant, of discovering a nest in a small compartment of my apartment that faces the outside, which was originally designed to house a window-type air conditioning unit and which, due to disuse, now serves as a makeshift home.

As I have described in previous posts, I usually make use of the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed, in order to improve or highlight some element of my images, without modifying their essence.

En una participación anterior, había comentado que muchas aves, particularmente las palomas, suelen sentirse atraídas por el edificio donde resido actualmente, probablemente por la presencia de un parque a corta distancia, además de algunos terrenos baldíos en las cercanías, cubiertos de vegetación y con arbustos que seguramente dan cobijo a muchos animales.

Es común ver en el pavimento del estacionamiento, y los ventanas y salientes del edificio, palomas de diversos colores descansando y refugiándose del intenso sol. También, de vez en cuando se observan halcones en vuelo acechando a nuestros amigos plumíferos, seguramente buscando carne fresca para alimentarrse.

Hace pocos días tuve la sorpresa, no sé si grata o ingrata, de descubrir un nido en un pequeño compartimiento de mi apartamento que da al exterior, y que originalmente fué diseñado para alojar una unidad de aire acondicionado tipo ventana, y la cual por desuso, ahora sirve como un hogar improvisado.

Como he descrito en posts anteriores, acostumbro hacer uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed, con el objetivo de mejorar o destacar algún elemento de mis imágenes, sin modificar su esencia.
