At the entrance of the National Sanctuary of Our Lady of Coromoto, a Catholic temple located in a place known as Quebrada de la Virgen, about 25 kilometers from the city of Guanare, in the western plains of Venezuela, there is a wide staircase to access it from the outside.

Built in the place where the Virgin appeared for the second time to the Indian Coromoto, this building of brutalist architectural style, has a capacity to lodge 2500 people in its interior, and around 50,000 in the exterior areas, being inaugurated in 1996, after concluding the works initiated in 1980.

In its upper part it has an open sky viewpoint, which can be reached by elevator or by stairs, where it is possible to observe the plains, part of the Andes mountain range and the city of Guanare, when the day is clear enough.

These photos belonging to my personal archive, were taken some years ago during a brief visit to the neighboring state of Portuguesa, which also included a previous walk through a beautiful field of sunflowers on the Jose Antonio Paez Highway.

As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.

A la entrada del Santuario Nacional Nuestra Señora de Coromoto, un templo católico ubicado en un lugar conocido como Quebrada de la Virgen a unos 25 kilómetros de la ciudad de Guanare, en los llanos occidentales de Venezuela; se encuentra una amplia escalinata para poder acceder a ella desde el exterior.

Construida en el lugar donde la Virgen se le apareció por segunda ocasión al indio Coromoto, esta edificación de estilo arquitectónico brutalista, tiene una capacidad para albergar 2500 personas en su interior, y alrededor de 50.000 en las áreas exteriores, siendo inaugurada en 1996, luego de concluir los trabajos iniciados en 1980.

En su parte superior cuenta con un mirador a cielo abierto, al que se puede llegar por ascensor o a través de escaleras, donde es posible observar los llanos, parte de la cordillera de los Andes y de la ciudad de Guanare, cuando el día está lo suficientemente despejado.

Estas fotos pertenecientes a mi archivo personal, las tomé algunos años atrás durante una breve visita realizada al vecino estado Portuguesa, que incluyó también un paseo previo por un hermoso campo de girasoles en la Autopista José Antonio Páez.

Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
