Historic District

As part of the activities for the celebration of Holy Week, last March, I visited the historic center or central area of Barquisimeto, the city where I currently live.

I was doing the so-called "Tour of the 7 Temples", a tradition of Catholicism that enjoys great popularity, both in Venezuela and in many countries in Latin America and southern Europe, and which is touring that number of churches as a way to remember the last hours of Jesus' earthly life, before his crucifixion.

While touring some of the churches located downtown, I took the opportunity to photograph some of the historic buildings, as well as the facades, some of them very well preserved, of the colonial houses whose construction dates back a few hundred years.

Although most of the buildings, with the exception of the temples, were closed for religious festivities, I did not miss the opportunity to take some interesting pictures, which help me to renew and increase my personal bank of images, which I usually share on my social networks.

As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.

Dentro de las actividades de la celebración de la Semana Santa, en el pasado mes de Marzo, visité el casco histórico o casco central de Barquisimeto, la ciudad donde vivo actualmente.

Estuve realizando el denoninado "Recorrido de los 7 Templos", una tradición del catolicismo que goza de una gran popularidad, tanto en Venezuela como en muchos países de América Latina y del sur de Europa, y la cual consiste en recorrer esa cantidad de iglesias como una forma de recordar las últimas horas de vida terrenal de Jesús, antes de su crucifixión.

Mientras recorría algunos templos ubicados en el centro, aproveché de acercarme a fotografiar algunas de las edificiones históricas, además de las fachadas, algunas muy bien conservadas, de las viviendas coloniales cuya construcción data de algunos cientos de años atrás.

Aunque la gran mayoría de las edificaciones, con excepción de los templos, se encontraban cerrados por las festividades religiosas, no desaproveché la oportunidad de tomar algunas gráficas bastante interesantes, y que me ayudan a renovar e incrementar mi banco personal de imágenes, las cuales acostumbro a compartir en mis redes sociales.

Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
