A memory is a complex phenomenon that involves the brain's ability to store, retain, and ultimately retrieve information, experiences and procedures previously experienced or learned in order to bring them back to the present. The important thing about a memory is the emotion or emotions it awakens in us.

Thanks to this ability to contemplate the past, human beings are able to plan for the future. Memories can be linked to short-term memory or long-term memory.

Some years ago, while traveling back from the city of Valencia, as I had enough time and it was early in the morning, I decided to deviate a little from my route to visit Puerto Cabello.

This port city located on the shores of the Caribbean Sea, is characterized by a well-preserved historic center that makes it very attractive for visitors and tourists. In addition, for many years, it has had a great customs and port activity.

I have not returned since that short and improvised visit, however, I have seen through social networks that it has undergone an accelerated process of renovation of its urban area, becoming a very popular destination today, so I hope to return soon.

As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.

Un recuerdo es uncomplejo fenómeno que incolucra la capacidad del cerebro para almacenar, retener, y en última instancia, recuperar información, experiencias y procedimientos experimentados o aprendidos con anterioridad para traerlos al presente. Lo importante de un recuerdo es la emoción o las emociones que despierta en nosotros.

Gracias a esta capacidad para contemplar el pasado, los seres humanos estamos en condiciones de planificar el futuro. Los recuerdos pueden estar vinculados a la memoria a corto plazo o a la memoria a largo plazo.

Hace algunos años atrás, mientras viajaba de regreso desde la ciudad de Valencia, como disponía de suficiente tiempo y era temprano, decidí desviarme un poco de mi ruta para visitar a Puerto Cabello.

Esta ciudad portuaria ubicada a orillas del Mar Caribe, se caracteriza por tener un casco histórico bien preservado que la hace muy atractiva para recibir visitantes y turistas. Además, desde hace muchos años, ha contado con una gran actividad aduanera y portuaria.

No he regresado desde aquella corta e improvisada visita, sin embargo, he visto por las Redes Sociales que ha experimentado un acelerado proceso de renovación de su casco urbano, convirtiéndose en un destino muy cotizado en la actualidad, por lo que espero regresar pronto.

Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
