Walk on the Beach /

Taking a walk on Long Island's north shore beach, with my metal detector //

Going down the 4 wheel drive entrance to the beach. I personally don't think vehicles should be allowed. Makes it hard walking through the ruts they make among other things.

Looking down the beach you can see derelict barges jutting into the water.

Getting down to the big rock in the water.

Finding mostly junk with the detector. Beach is pretty clean occasional pop and bottle tops.

Looking back where I came from.

Derelict stairway on the cliff.

One of 4 barges that have been in the water a long time. I think they were purposely sunk here. Good place to go fishing I have been told.

Walking passed the barges the the cliffs are set back where a little used beach road begins.

Off to my left I see a ravine in the cliff. A natural way to get down to the beach. Must have been used as a road going back some time. May find something interesting in there I thought.

Metal detector and scoop. Up ahead the the road widened out then disappeared.
I did find something halfway up. A 38 caliber pistol bullet. No coins, no gold jewelry. 🤣
