Bye Bye Baby
Just sold my mother's 72' Pontiac Gran Prix // on Market place
My father bought the car new for my mother. Only thing was it was to powerful for her. 400 cu in engine had plenty of power. So it stayed mainly in the garage, coming out for a Sunday drive.
After my father retired they moved south in 1989 taking the Grand Prix with them and staying in the garage down there.
Before the Gran Prix they had a 1960 Pontiac Catalina convertible, which I loved. Showing my age now huh. That was a cream puff too, all black //
This is what it looked like but in white, it also had the maroon interior.

I wanted that car but when my sister got married they wound up giving it to them. Bummer 😥// The marriage ended up in divorce with mister unwonderful getting to keep it, where it sat in the back yard turning to junk.
Well in 1994 my parents ask me if I wanted the 72' Pontiac. Of cause I jumped on it. I really didn't like it like the convertible but by then it was well on it's way to being a classic.
But I didn't use it and it sat in my garage for years.
So now it's sold, where I got over 5 times what my father originally paid for.. Loved those chrome bummers.
Lovely vehicle!!! I would have bought it if I had any money at all! LOL!
🎉🎉🥳 Yeah , party time 🥳🎊🎊

I do love the old American cars but the fuel consumption is holding me back from buying one , not to mention the road tax we have to pay here in Holland.
it does look in a very good shape for a 1972 car .

Thanks for the nice comment.
I just love that car because it gives a unique feeling, and driving this car would be fun and a different feeling. Keep on.

Gorgeous car!
😎👍
Damn, both of them are so adorable but it's a very common thing that cars like these don't get driven that much. Nice to hear you got over 5 times it's original price.
Yeah was waste just sitting in garage ..
I think my Mom had one of those for a while, but not a convertable. It was kind of a goldish color. Brought back some memories to see it. My Mom turned 91 2 days ago and now drives a Honda.
Good for her still getting around //
Yes.... she's in amazingly good condition for 91.
I had a '76. Loved it too.
Thanks!
Time to move on . thanks for comment
