Rare Sand Lilly Plants At Silistar Beach

Greetings, Fellow Lilly Ponderers!

Sand, dunish, dune or sand related lillies. The rare species growing on a couple of our beaches that I know of. One of the best beaches in Bulgariq to visit, anyway. These photos are from Silistar. The other one I am speaking of is called Arkutino. I have been sharing photos from both those places in the past. I expect to continue to do so.

I found this group last summer and it was near sunset...

So, for my second piece, I tried including the environment, the background, the filtered light of the Sun while it was going low and below the tree line. I had to be on my knees and try to twisd in a way that would give me the lowest viewpoint without going into the sand and burying the hood of my lens.

While flower and bug photography is not usually my thing, I still do those... inventory photos, made to highlight the stuff that is just there and deserves some attention or appreciation. Which is subjective, of course. But I have always had a thing for anything rare.

Well, not as delicate as the water lillies, this kin of theirs need to be and look rough, no way around it.

More like a place review, a habitat of plants, a small-scale garden of Nature that exists between human leisure and business opportunities, thorns and stinging mosquitoes, swamp reek and sea breeze.

That would be it for today's glimpse at an aspect of Silistar Beach, south-eastern Bulgaria.

Peace and Meditation!

Yours,

Manol

Good photographic captures of this rare lily, not many found on beaches, most unusual!

Thanks. Have you seen any? In any case, Africa has a lot of other stuff I would love seeing in person.

Only ever seen a Flame Lily on the beach growing on a sand dune, must have been washed down during floods and planted itself. Colour caught my eye, it was a special find at the time.
