No Times For Sunflower

Greetings, Fellow Soft Look Admirers!

Some time ago I was telling you about a book called Theory of The Non Sharpness.

The posts related are covered with lots of time, though. It's about the harmony, the general aesthetics that urge us to not always chase sharp and clear images since lots of feel is lost. I learned to respect that and accept such images.

Camera Settings:

Aperture F 4;
Shutter Speed 1/2000 sec.;
Light Sensitivity ISO 800;
Focal Length 135 mm.

Shot from the car. Not moving, though. I was still in kind of a hurry so that ISO and shutter speed ratio was not that optimal. I could have gone a bit slower with a bit lower ISO number, too.

Sunflower is in trouble this year.

I was listening about it on the radio. Today. A spokesperson among farmers claimed that people in her circles, meaning crop producing businessmen, have been losing a lot lately.

One reason is the cheap seed and wheat coming from Ukraine but stopping here in wealthy Europe for larger profits of local processing companies rather than continuing towards... Africa, for example.

Those processing companies have also turned their back on their crop producing homies. Who are less likely to continue to operate if stuff goes on like that.

Another reason is drought. It actually makes the import kind of the sensible thing to do. Stock up on whatever you can, every man for himself. And crops are generally failing this summer.

I think wheat was good, though. It survived and it was harvested just as the great heatwaves were still starting or even a bit earlier.

You know what produces even greater air pollution than private jets? Ammo exploding aplenty. War is always a natural catastrophe, too. At least since gunpowder has become popular.

Still, every single personal choice matters. We can sometimes choose to walk instead of drive. I make such a choice a few times a day. Sometimes I walk, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I do.

Good times!

Not for sunflower.

Peace and take care!

Yours,

Manol
