Day 72/365: Trek To One of The Holiest Pilgrimage Sites Of Jains

Shri Sammed Shikharji is one of the holiest pilgrimage sites for Jains at Giridih District in Jharkhand. It is located at the highest peak in Jharkhand on Parasnath Hills. It is a place where 20 Tirthankaras out of 24 Tirthankaras along with many other monks attained moksha (or liberation) through meditation.

So, this Holi, we planned to visit Sammed Shikharji. For this, we travelled from Kathmandu to Jharkhand. We had to travel via three means of transportation. Firstly, we took a flight from Kathmandu to Raxaul (Nepal Border), then we booked a car and travelled till Patna, Bihar and from Patna, we had a train till Parasnath, Jharkhand. On March 7th, we started our trek from Parasnath Hills at 3:30 A.M.

The feeling after reaching the top is inexpressible and that one can only feel. The peace I experienced there was something I was looking for in my life till that date. This was my best trek and place I have visited so far.
