A walk through the historic center of Bogotá: an unique cultural experience (Eng) (Esp) Un paseo por el centro histórico de Bogotá: una experiencia cultural única.

Something that was suggested to me that I could not leave without visiting on this trip was the historic center of Bogotá and I must say that Iʹm glad I accepted the suggestion, the architecture of the place is impressive and made me feel like I had really stepped back in time.

One of the most iconic places in the historic center is the Plaza de Bolívar, to describe it a bit it is a wide space full of life surrounded by historical and religious buildings. In the center of the square is a statue of the liberator Simón Bolívar, a national hero who fought for the independence of Colombia and other Latin American countries. Here I could find many tourists and locals who visit the square to admire the architecture and enjoy the atmosphere of the city.

Algo que me sugirieron que no podía irme sin visitar en este viaje era el centro histórico de Bogotá y debo decir que me alegra haber aceptado la sugerencia, la arquitectura del lugar es impresionante y me hizo sentir realmente como si hubiese retrocedido en el tiempo.

Uno de los lugares más icónicos del centro histórico es la Plaza de Bolívar, para describirla un poco es un espacio amplio y lleno de vida rodeado de edificios históricos y religiosos. En el centro de la plaza se encuentra una estatua del libertador Simón Bolívar, un héroe nacional que luchó por la independencia de Colombia y de otros países de Latinoamérica. Aquí me pude encontrar a muchos turistas y locales que visitan la plaza para admirar la arquitectura y disfrutar de la atmósfera de la ciudad.

My tour continued to the Palacio de Nariño, the official residence of the president of Colombia. This imposing colonial-style building is a work of art in itself and has beautiful gardens that took my breath away, the view from the outside was spectacular and I took a photo trying to capture the essence of the place.

Mi recorrido continuó hacia el Palacio de Nariño, la residencia oficial del presidente de Colombia. Este imponente edificio de estilo colonial es una obra de arte en sí misma y cuenta con jardines hermosos que me dejaron sin aliento, la vista desde afuera me resultó espectacular y tomé una foto tratando de capturar la esencia del lugar.

But when it comes to structure, a place that you cannot miss if you come to Bogotá is the Nuestra Señora del Carmen Sanctuary, a Catholic temple with impressive colonial architecture. The sanctuary is considered a sacred place by the faithful and its interior is decorated with beautiful paintings and religious sculptures. Personally, I stayed to attend a religious service and the experience was unique, both the place and the faith of the locals make it feel a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Pero si de estructura se trata, un lugar que no puedes dejar de visitar si llegas a venir a Bogotá es el Santuario Nuestra Señora del Carmen, un templo católico con una arquitectura colonial impresionante. El santuario es considerado un lugar sagrado por los fieles y su interior está decorado con hermosas pinturas y esculturas religiosas, yo en lo personal me quedé para asistir a un servicio religioso y la experiencia fue única tanto el lugar como la fé de los lugareños hace que se sienta un ambiente cálido y acogedor.

In general, the historic center of Bogotá is a place full of life and diversity, where you can find museums, theaters, restaurants, and shops. If you want to know the culture and history of Colombia, you cannot miss visiting this magical place. Without a doubt, this trip left unforgettable experiences in me and I would like to repeat it later in the future.

En general, el centro histórico de Bogotá es un lugar lleno de vida y diversidad, donde puedes encontrar museos, teatros, restaurantes y tiendas. Si quieres conocer la cultura y la historia de Colombia, no puedes dejar de visitar este lugar mágico, sin duda este viaje dejó en mí experiencias inolvidables y me gustaría repetirlo luego en el futuro.
