Quinceañera Studio Photoshoot - Monomad Challenge.

Today, I want to share a beautiful Quinceañera photoshoot I did in my studio!

This girl's story is quite powerful, and that's precisely what makes these photos so special. Her parents told me she survived cancer when she was just two years old, so the fact that she's celebrating her 15th birthday today is a miracle. These photos are incredibly special for her and her family!

I started by taking a couple of full body shots:

Hoy les quiero compartir una bonita sesion de fotos que hice en mi estudio para una quinceañera!

La historia de esta chica es bastante fuerte y precisamente eso es lo que hace tan especial estas fotos, pues, según me contaron sus padres, esta chica sobrevivió al cancer cuando apenas tenia dos añitos de edad y el hecho de que hoy en dia esté celebrando sus 15 años es todo un milagro y asi que estas foos son muy especiales para ella y su familia!

Empecé por hacerle un par de fotos a cuerpo completo:

She's not a model or anything like that, so I constantly guided her with poses to help her feel less nervous. I moved in a bit closer for the next photos:

La chica no es modelo ni nada por el estilo asi que siempre estuve guiándola con las poses para hacerla sentir menos nerviosa, me acerqué un poco mas para hacer las siguientes fotos:

All photos were taken with my Canon R8 camera and a 50mm f/2.8 lens.

For lighting, I used two light sources: for the main light, I used a speedlite flash with a 50 cm octabox at a 45 degree angle to the client, and as a secondary light, I used an LED light panel behind her to create a rim light.

Todas las fotos las tomé con mi camara Canon R8 y un lente 50mm a 2.8/f.

Para la iluminacion utilicé dos puntos de luz, para luz principal usé un flash speed lite con un octabox de 50 cm a 45 grados de la chica y como luz secundaria utilicé un panel de luz led detras de la chica para crear una luz de recorte.

In the following photos, we aimed to showcase her hairstyle more and highlight her interesting curly hair:

En las siguientes fotos buscamos mostrar un poco mas el peinado de la chica y resaltar su interesante cabello rizado:

And the next photo is definitely my favorite, the girl looks like a true princess:

Y la siguiente foto es definitivamente mi foto favorita, la chica se ve como toda una princesa:

We also took the typical photo with the girl sitting and the dress stretched to the sides:

Tambien hicimos la tipica foto con la chica sentada y el vestido estirado hacia los lados:

To conclude the session, I wanted to take a close up "beauty" style shot where we could appreciate the details of her makeup and accessories like her crown, necklace, and earrings.

To achieve this photo, I significantly increased my camera's F stop and adjusted the lighting. The result is my second favorite photo:

Para finalizar la sesion quise hacer una foto en plano cercano tipo "beauty" en donde se pudiera apreciar los detalles de su maquillaje y sus accesorios como corona, collar y pendientes.

Para lograr esta foto subí bastante el F de mi camara y ajusté la iluminacion, el resultado es mi segunda foto favorita:

In the end, both the Quinceañera and I were super happy with the results of this photoshoot. I hope you like them as much as we did!

Al final tanto la quinceañera como yo quedamos super contentos con los resultados de esta sesion de fotos, espero que a ustedes les gusten tanto como a nosotros!
