19 Street photography full of color from Venezuela
As the title says, today I want to share a set of 19 street photographs. It's a diverse collection with a lot to see. One thing all these photos have in common is that they only work well in color, as color is a very important element in each one. I hope you like them!
I'll start by showing you this photo of a man laughing. He walked past me and said, "Hey, take a photo of me!" Of course, I did. He just laughed without stopping or looking at the camera, resulting in this perfectly natural and spontaneous shot!
Como el titulo lo dice, hoy les quiero compartir este set de 19 fotografias callejeras, es muy variado y tiene muchas cosas por ver, algo que tienen en comun todas estas fotos es que solo funcionan bien si las comparto a color ya que es un elemento muy importante en cada una de ellas, espero les guste!
Empezaré por mostrarles esta foto de un señor riendo, el pasó en frente de mi y me dijo: hey tomame una foto y yo le dije por supuesto y lo apunté, el señor solo se rió sin detenerse ni mirar a la camara y resulto en esta foto tan perfectamente natural y espontanea!
Sticking with the green tones, I'd like to share this photo I took another day in a different place. The light was hitting a tree beautifully:
Siguiendo por los mismos tonos de colores verdes me gustaria compartirles esta foto que tomé otro dia en otro lugar, la luz estaba dando en un arbol de una manera muy linda:
That same day, very close by, I saw this avocado tree. I was so surprised it was full of avocados! I framed it the best way I could to get as many avocados as possible into the shot:
Ese mismo dia, muy cerca de ese lugar, ví este arbol de Aguacates y me sorprendió muchisimo que estaba lleno de aguacates, encuadré de la mejor manera que pude para meter la mayor cantidad de aguacates en la misma foto:
Continuing with the greens... I found it very curious to see a chair in the middle of so much overgrown foliage:
Siguiendo con los verdes... Me pareció muy curioso ver una silla en medio de tanto monte:
I took the next photo because the neighborhood landscape in the background reminded me of the favelas in Brazil:
La siguiente foto la tomé porque el paisaje del barrio al fondo me recordaba a como se ven las favelas en brazil:
Now I'll move on to another topic. The next three photos have something peculiar and common: In Venezuela, grocery stores often hang bananas outside their shops. I've always found it very curious that they do that, and it's extremely common to see it everywhere:
Ahora pasaré a otro tema y es que las siguientes 3 fotos tienen una cosa particular en comun y curioso: En Venezuela las tiendas de viveres suelen colgar Bananas fuera de sus locales, siempre me ha parecido muy curioso que hagan eso y es extremadamente comun verlo en todos lados:
The following two photos have one thing in common: both subjects in the middle of the photo are carrying a bag with the colors of the Venezuelan flag. However, here that bag is known as "the bag of misfortune" because it was a gift from the Venezuelan government to low income people, and that's how people usually identify those who use them.
La siguientes dos fotos tienen una cosa en comun: ambos sujetos en medio de la foto estan usando un bolso con los colores de la bandera de venezuela, pero aqui ese bolso es conocido como "el bolso de la desgracia" porque fue un regalo que hizo el gobierno venezolano a personas de bajos recursos y así es como las personas suelen identificar a quienes los usan.
Another day, in another place, a totally different photo: in Venezuelan butcher shops, it's very common to see animal parts hanging, as in this case, a pig's head:
Otro dia, en otro lugar, una foto totalmente diferente, en las carnicerias de venezuela es muy comun ver las partes de animales colgando, como en este caso, la cabeza de un cochino:
Heavy work: this man was filling the back of a pickup truck with water jugs, one by one.
Trabajo pesado: este señor estuvo llenando la parte de atras de una camioneta con botellones de agua, uno por uno.
I took the next photo because I found it very curious to see flowers for sale next to a pile of rocks, creating a stark contrast between the two elements:
La siguiente foto la tomé porque me pareció muy curioso ver la venta de flores al lado de un monton de rocas, creando un contraste muy marcado entre ambos elementos:
Something else I've been doing lately is photographing car license plates that form a word, like this one that says "FBI."
Algo que tambien he estado haciendo ultimamente es fotografiar las placas de carros que forman alguna palabra, como este que dice "FBI"
The following six photos share the same theme: PEOPLE, an element with a lot of strength in street photography. All these five photos were taken on the same day in the mid town of my city.
First, I'll show you my favorite photo. I found it very beautiful to see a baby sleeping so peacefully in her mother's arms amidst so much urban chaos.
Las siguientes 6 fotos tienen el mismo tema en comun: PERSONAS, un elemento con bastante fuerza en las fotografias callejeras, todas esas 5 fotos las tomé el mismo dia en el centro de mi ciudad.
Primero les mostraré mi foto favorita y es que me pareció muy bonito ver una bebé dormida tan pacificamente en los brazos de su madre en medio de tanto Caos urbano.
A few seconds later, in the same spot, I saw this scene and found it very symbolic to see the old man walking slowly and the child running in the opposite direction...
Unos segundos mas tarde, en el mismo sitio ví esta escena y me pareció muy simbolico ver al señor caminando lentamente y al niño corriendo hacia el lado opuesto...
The protagonist of the next photo is the man petting the dogs, who were probably asking him for some bread:
El protagonista de la siguiente foto es el señor acariciando a los perros, que probablemente le estaban pidiendo un poco de pan:
I captured a man in a moment of introspection, almost as if he were praying:
Capturé a un hombre en un momento de introspección, casi como si estuviera rezando:
The anonymous heroes who keep our city clean:
Los heroes anonimos que mantienen limpia nuestra ciudad:
