A veces me gusta explorar mi propia ciudad (Valencia- Venezuela) en busca de lugares históricos interesantes, en parte para recolectar material para mi canal de youtube y también porque amo muchísimo todo lo que tenga que ver con historia y otras épocas, así que en esta ocasión me fui con mi hermana en busca del famoso Puente Morillo, un puente histórico construido entre 1815 a 1820 y que divide las parroquias San Blas y Candelaria. Yo quería visitarlo desde hace tiempo porque investigando la historia de mi ciudad descubrí muchos datos interesantes sobre él, por ejemplo, que es el primer puente construido sobre el río Cabriales y que servía como acceso a la ciudad en la época de la colonia, porque para poder pasar al centro de la ciudad (la plaza Bolívar y la catedral), antes había que vadear el río buscando la zona menos profunda.

Sometimes I like to explore my own city (Valencia, Venezuela) in search of interesting historical sites, partly to gather material for my YouTube channel and also because I love everything related to history and other eras, so this time I went with my sister in search of the famous Morillo Bridge, a historic bridge built between 1815 and 1820 that divides the parishes of San Blas and Candelaria. I had wanted to visit it for a long time because while researching the history of my city I discovered many interesting facts about it, for example, that it is the first bridge built over the Cabriales River and that it served as access to the city in colonial times, because in order to get to the city center (Plaza Bolívar and the cathedral), you had to first wade through the river looking for the shallowest part.

It took my sister and me a while to find it because there are a few more bridges these days, but we finally found it and this made me very happy. We took some video footage for my channel and found the commemorative plaque. The name of the bridge is a tribute to the Spanish general Pablo Morillo, and according to what I was reading in the information on that plaque, the bridge partially collapsed in 1902 but fortunately was restored in 1903 😊

Something that really caught my attention and I loved 😍 was that I found the exact spot where many years ago photographs were taken of this same bridge, with the cathedral in the background.

Under the bridge, in the river, even though today it is not in the best condition, that its waters are no longer as clean as before, there is a lot of fauna like fish and herons, but that day that my sister and I went we realized that there was a turtle, but on other occasions people have seen capybaras there, or as we call them in this country, Chigüires, even on one occasion they found a small caiman and that news appeared in several newspapers.

We really had a great time, not only did we go to work but we also spent quality time with sisters, we laughed a lot, learned new things together and had fun, because my little sister @bethyjade is my ally in everything, so she is not only my sister but an unconditional friend, that's why I love her so much 😘.
