La Vega de mi Primo/My Cousin's Vega

Hola, mis queridos amigos, el día de hoy quiero compartir un poco más de lo que fue mi viaje de hace algunas semanas al pueblo de mi papá y de mi familia materna, allí visité no solo a la familia, sino lugares maravillosos que yo no suelo ver a menudo en la ciudad donde vivo, incluso visité una vieja fabrica de tabaco abandonada donde mi papá trabajó durante su adolescencia, pero en esta ocasión quiero mostrarles la vega de mi primo.
Hello, my dear friends, today I want to share a little bit more about my trip a few weeks ago to my dad's and my mother's family's village, there I visited not only the family, but wonderful places that I don't often see in the city where I live, I even visited an old abandoned tobacco factory where my dad worked during his teenage years, but this time I want to show you the vega of my cousin.

Una vega es un terreno llano, bastante fértil que generalmente está en la orilla de ríos y arroyos, mi primo logró obtener un terreno con estas características el cual aprovechó para sembrar muchas plantas de banana.
A vega is a flat, fairly fertile piece of land that is generally on the banks of rivers and creeks. My cousin managed to obtain a piece of land with these characteristics, which he used to plant many banana plants.
Cuando estábamos a punto de llegar me sorprendió mucho el precioso paisaje, había plantaciones de banana y café, miren que hermosas están las plantas a pesar de la sequía que azota este lugar actualmente. mi primo me explicó que se debe a que esas personas tienen dinero para comprar agua suficiente, la cual vende un camión que pasa regularmente por la zona.
When we were about to arrive I was very surprised by the beautiful landscape, there were banana and coffee plantations, look how beautiful the plants are in spite of the drought that is currently ravaging this place, my cousin explained to me that it is because these people have money to buy enough water, which is sold by a truck that passes regularly through the area.
Para llegar a la vega de mi primo hay que bajar por una colina bastante empinada que está a la izquierda del lugar que les mostré en la fotografía anterior, de verdad me costó mucho trabajo bajar porque había mucha tierra suelta que podía ser resbalosa, razón por la cual no pude hacer fotos en ese momento, y luego me desternillé de risa al ver que unos niños que vivían por la zona lograron bajar corriendo en compañía de una cabra sin ninguna dificultad.
To get to my cousin's vega you have to go down a steep hill to the left of the place I showed you in the previous picture, it was really hard to go down because there was a lot of loose soil that could be slippery, which is why I couldn't take pictures at that moment, and then I burst out laughing when I saw that some children who lived in the area managed to run down with a goat without any difficulty.
Como ustedes mismos pueden comprobar, la sequía ha afectado bastante la zona y las hojas de muchas plantas se han secado.
As you can see for yourselves, the drought has hit the area hard and the leaves of many plants have dried up.
Aun así las plantas son bastante resistentes y fértiles, así que da gusto ver como hay racimos de banana en algunas de ellas, mi primo dice que todavía no están listas para la cosecha, pero que no les falta demasiado tiempo.
Even so, the plants are quite hardy and fertile, so it is nice to see how there are bunches of bananas on some of them, my cousin says that they are not ready to harvest yet, but it won't take a lot of time .
Pero hay otras zonas que se ven muy verdes e incluso con algunas flores, me gustó muchísimo ese lugar porque es bastante apacible, creo que se puede usar para meditar o para sentarse a leer o escribir una buena historia.
But there are other areas that look very green and even with some flowers, I really liked that place because it is quite peaceful, I think it can be used to meditate or to sit and read or write a good story.
Caminamos entre las plantas de plátano y me alegré mucho de haber encontrado una enorme cantidad de culantro o "cilantro de monte" como también se le llama a esta hierba, a mí me agrada mucho su aroma y su sabor, es perfecto para las comidas en especial para los granos, así que no lo pensé dos veces para detenerme recolectar un manojo de estas hierbas y también semillas para sembrar en mi hogar. ¡Ah! y además logré conseguir algunos tomatitos silvestres.
We walked among the banana plants and I was very happy to find a huge amount of culantro or "wild coriander" as this herb is also called, I really like its aroma and taste, it is perfect for food, especially beans, so I didn't think twice to stop and collect a bunch of these herbs and also seeds to sow at home, and I also managed to get some wild little tomatoes.
Incluso el arroyo que pasa por aquí está totalmente seco, miren, se ve extraño el terreno sin agua, aunque mi primo dice que cuando llueve, el arroyo se llena de nuevo.
Even the creek that runs through here is completely dry, look, it looks strange the land without water, although my cousin says that when it rains, the stream fills up again.
Aún así es reconfortante ver que todavía queda un pequeño pozo de agua, que los niños locales usan para pescar "sardinitas" en realidad son peces muy pequeños que ellos llaman de esa forma, y realmente solo los capturan por un momento para observarlos más de cerca y luego los devuelven al pozo.
Yet it is comforting to see that there is still a small waterhole, which the local children use to catch "Little Sardines", actually very small fish that they call by that name, and really only catch them for a moment for a closer look and then throw them back into the creek.
Fue grandioso haber visitado ese lugar, a mí y a mi hermana @bethyjade nos gustó muchísimo estar ahí, aunque esperamos regresar para cuando haya caído la lluvia y llene de nuevo el arroyo.
It was great to have visited that place, me and my sister @bethyjade really enjoyed being there, although we hope to be back by the time the rain has fallen and fills the creek again.
