Little known edible mushrooms - Hare's ear

avatar

This inconspicuous mushroom counts over a dozen similar species in Europe. They are all edible, but not necessarily tasty and collected by mushroom pickers.

First of all, the species of this mushroom is not mass-produced, and its size also discourages collection, except for presentation or table decoration.

It can be found from early summer to late autumn, mainly in deciduous forests, rarely in coniferous ones. It is an edible mushroom, but not harvested too often by mushroom pickers.

The shape of this mushroom is cup-shaped, asymmetrical, sometimes the bends and corrugations of the surface resemble a human ear. The edges are often folded inwards.

The color of the cap is yellowish, sometimes ocher yellow or slightly orange. The mushroom has a very short stem, which is almost imperceptible.

The flesh of this mushroom is tender, fragile and thin. It has a delicate mushroom taste and smell that can be classified as pleasant.

Good luck

😉
