Conifer-cone baeospora - is it an arboreal fungus?
Can this mushroom be called an arboreal mushroom? It seems so because it grows on cones, which, however, are part of the tree.
However, this species, unlike similar specimens appearing in early spring, grows in autumn.
Its growth substrate and at the same time its home are spruce and pine cones. It is an inedible mushroom, significantly different from the edible spruce cone.
The cap of this mushroom has a round shape, it is flat and sometimes slightly convex. The color is light brown, beige. The size of the hat is small and
only occasionally exceeds 2 cm in diameter.
The leg is delicate, slender, hollow inside and reaches about 4 cm in height. The gills are dense, beige in color. The flesh is delicate with a slightly mushroom smell and taste, but still unpleasant in taste.
