Wednesday Walk: A CuteTrail Along The Seashore

avatar

Every morning and evening I pass a very cute trail along the seashore. I see life wake up and fall asleep. Sometimes, the trail is empty; sometimes, it is bustling, and when it is raining, it is completely forgotten. I see the same and different faces, the same cafes, the same rather messy pavement, grandmothers, tourists, already familiar faces, which I remember when I meet them here every day. I know, those people love this street just as much as I love and admire it.

On the other side of the street - a cafe, very cozy and very casual. Sometimes I go there for coffee in the evening. I liked the view through the trees to the sea and the smell of new furniture. I love the smell of new furniture. I also like delicious desserts thay are making there. As the weather warms up, all outdoor spaces are occupied by hungry and extremely thirsty citizens.

I always try to walk slowly along this street, and it doesn't work to go fast, my heels get stuck between the stones and my gait becomes far from a model. I walk slowly, enjoying not only the first joys of spring, but also roofs, balconies, pavement, smells, people.

I see the same uncle every morning in the cafe. He is the most interesting part of the street for me, and I keep dreaming of talking with him and I know that one day I will definitely talk with this uncle and write an article about recurring things. I'm guessing he might be a journalist, writer, teacher, neighbor, bakery owner... I'm sure one of those who starts the day around 9:30 every day with the same ritual.

Nearby, in the winter and in the summer, things are traded. Dresses, scarves, handmade notebooks, various souvenirs, pictures - from Monday to Sunday. Trading the same things, I think, is a way of life for those people. Like writing, traveling or drinking coffee in the morning in the same place. Here they talk, eat, drink coffee from paper cups, talk to tourists, and when it gets dark, they go home with their goods. That's how the days go by.

I wonder if they are on vacation. Do they go to rest in another city or country in the summer? Have they ever had a different job? Is it worth selling them? Do they wear those socks themselves? Do they make souvenirs themselves? They are as interesting as that uncle drinking coffee in the cafe.

That street just has become something special for me. Attracts, inspires, warms or interests. Changing street musicians, strange old men, Chinese people with cameras, collapsing balconies and people partying on them... And the roaring sea.
