We were on the road for about an hour, and the first town on our route was Oia. This is the same little town we all know from pictures, with its snow-white houses, blue roofs, and windmills. Buses park at the city's main bus station. Cars are not allowed further. All the paths in the historic centre are narrow and exclusively pedestrian. Sometimes we had to wait for a whole group to cross a street before we could cross it ourselves. Our route led us to the part of town that offered the most stunning views of the city and the sea. And it was worth it.

I wanted to photograph so many details that symbolise this island. The hotels deserve a special mention. Almost all the sites visible from the cliff are hotels. I think the prices for such hotels are more than overpriced. And yet, after paying huge sums of money, tourists lug their suitcases to the hotels on their backs. Strangely, the hotel doesn't offer donkey transfers, for example.

The narrow streets of Oia are lined with shops and taverns. While we were browsing for souvenirs, we were treated to delicious nuts. The shops sometimes surprised us with their unusual offerings. The hotels maintain their grounds in excellent condition, making strolling here a pleasure. The white and blue views delight tourists. It's no wonder that couples come here to get married and seal their union forever.

We almost reached Skara Rock. There is a small observation deck nearby. As we slowly climbed the stairs, we saw the small church of Christ. The natural Skara Rock in Imerovigli was an impregnable fortress built by the Venetians to keep pirates from constantly attacking it. The path to the rock is easy, and from here you can see even more impressive views of Santorini.
