This summer was unfortunately only a summer of short trips. Autumn looks just as boring, because my son started school, second grade. But I am already intensely interested in distance learning, because I really want to live in a warm foreign country again for at least a few months, until the cold rain falls here, in Lithuania, and then a cold, long, gloomy winter will come.

Unfortunately, summer does not spoil us with either heat or sun. When Western Europe was blazing hot in the truest sense of the word, we rarely got to enjoy the beaches and sun. To be honest, this summer, I didn't take off my summer dresses more than once, only shorts a few times. This is not my weather. I hate rain and cold.

In addition, my husband is gradually reconstructing our house, so, in terms of money, we have not allowed ourselves luxurious trips, only short trips here and there in our country, and to neighboring countries for a day, the next. We live relatively close to neighboring Latvia, we have been there many times. We were there at the end of this summer for a couple of days. Our own beaches here are also wonderful with white, soft sand, but the coast in Latvia is much wider, the infrastructure is well-organized, and we love to spend time there. In addition, there is a wonderful park with a large children's playground near the sea in Liepaja, so our children like it there too. The first day was very warm and pleasant, but the second day it drizzled a little.

No matter how many times I have been to this city, this is a place where you really relax from big cities, noisy areas, bustle where everything is quiet and measured, and you can hear the sea perfectly. What I like about the Baltics, are small cafés from which enchanting aromas of delicious coffee and all sorts of goodies reach you and invite.

The town of Liepaja is quite small. In the city itself there are many architectural monuments, ancient churches and cathedrals, buildings with centuries of history. The daily life of residents is quite leisurely. There were few people on the streets, but everything changed when we reached the outskirts of the market.

When I first came to Liepaja, I immediately said that this is the city where you want to meet your old age. The city where the wind is born, the only one that has its own anthem, is also called the musical capital of Latvia. The notes depicted on the tiles will not let you leave the tourist path, walking along which you can see sights related to music. Verses of the city's anthem are depicted on monuments, where there is a text of the song.

According to legend told by locals, you need to rub the crow's beak and make a wish, and it will come true.

As for the beautiful places of the city that are definitely worth visiting, it is up to you to choose, but I can recommend Church of the Holy Trinity. Every year there is an organ music festival here, and in addition to that, organ concerts are held in the summer.

The Cathedral of St. Joseph, made of yellow Danzig brick, simply delighted us! We walked for a long time through the well-kept park around the temple and admired its exterior. Quiet organ music sounds reached us even in the park, creating an indescribable atmosphere.

There is a beautiful embankment. In the same area, you can see a brand-new concert hall. According to locals, the largest in Europe.

The St. Nicholas Orthodox Naval Cathedral is a very large beautiful temple with beautiful icons and frescoes, which have preserved the architectural features of the past, impresses with its impressive majestic appearance and silence inside.

You should definitely see and listen to the musical monument called Ghost Tree. It is dedicated to the Latvian rock band Livija. By pressing one of the buttons located on the benches near the tree, you can enjoy the hit of this band.

And how can you not knock on the drums, which are impossible to miss while walking along the notes?

I really liked the musical alley with handprints of local celebrities.

The city center is very well-maintained — bike paths are laid, many small monuments here and there. At the bridge they rent out catamarans in the form of charming cars.

There are not many people in the city, so even at lunchtime, going out onto Pedestrian Street, a beautiful street in the very center of the city, you can find that there is... no one here except you!

There are always a lot of tourists in Liepaja, they have a lot to see and what to do! Bicycles are the most common transport, and if you don't have it with you, you can always easily find a bike for rent in one of two places. Bicycle and running tracks are everywhere. Many people of different ages are involved in sports is the best motivation for self-improvement.

The main thing for me is, of course, the beach and the large park near which it is located. The park is almost the length of the city itself, located nearby along the sea. There is pleasant clean air, and you want to breathe it deeply. These are centuries-old coniferous trees of different species. The park itself is very beautifully and originally decorated; in general, you can spend the whole day there. It is called the Jurmala Central Park. You won't find a better place to relax for the whole family: many comfortable benches, fountains, beautiful flower beds and lawns, cozy cafés, a playground, and most importantly, the cleanest air.

Well, and as for the beach itself, this is simply a unique coastline, the cleanliness and order of which is always maintained by public utilities. The water, however, is often cold even in summer, but very clean. The beach is wide enough, with clean and white sand. The dunes are an option for those who want to hide from the rising wind, get a good tan or retire with their family in one of the hollows.

I think it is slightly inferior to Jurmala, it's just that the bay and the sea are warmer there, and in Liepaja, there are the same wonderful spacious dunes, there is a place for everyone to retire and where to play beach volleyball... Every summer, various events, concerts, exhibitions and all kinds of cultural programs are held in the park and on the coast itself. I think everyone will find something for themselves in this city.

The playgrounds are located in well-chosen places, so, mommies, I was calm that my child was in a safe place. A big plus of the chain of cafés, restaurants and other establishments is the children's playrooms, where, for an additional fee, you can leave your children with a nanny and calmly spend time enjoying deliciously prepared food.

This is just a small part of Liepaja. Having fallen in love with this city, you can dissolve there. Knowing every corner, you will still find something that will delight. Liepaja lives its own life. From May to September, various events for city residents are held every weekend. Sports events where you can participate. Various open-air concerts, fairs.

We had a pleasant time there, and even the rain on the second day didn't ruin our trip.

Liepojos miestas yra gana mažas. Pačiame mieste yra daug architektūros paminklų, senovinių bažnyčių ir katedrų, pastatų su šimtmečių istorija. Gyventojų kasdienis gyvenimas yra gana ramus. Gatvėse buvo nedaug žmonių, bet viskas pasikeitė, kai pasiekėme turgaus pakraštį.

Kai pirmą kartą atvykau į Liepają, iš karto pasakiau, kad tai miestas, kuriame norisi praleisti senatvę. Miestas, kuriame gimsta vėjas, vienintelis turintis savo himną, taip pat vadinamas Latvijos muzikos sostine. Ant plytelių pavaizduotos natos neleis jums nukrypti nuo turistinio maršruto, kuriuo eidami galite pamatyti su muzika susijusias įžymybes. Šv. Juozapo katedra, pastatyta iš geltonų Danzigo plytų, mus tiesiog sužavėjo! Ilgai vaikščiojome po tvarkingą parką aplink šventovę ir grožėjomės jos išore. Net parke mus pasiekė rami vargonų muzika, kuri sukuria neapsakomą atmosferą.

Taip pat yra graži pakrantė. Ten galima pamatyti visiškai naują koncertų salę. Pasak vietinių gyventojų, didžiausią Europoje.

Šv. Nikolajaus ortodoksų katedra yra labai didelė graži šventovė su gražiomis ikonomis ir freskomis, kuriose išliko praeities architektūros bruožai, įspūdinga savo didinga išvaizda ir tyla viduje.

Būtinai turėtumėte pamatyti ir paklausyti muzikinį paminklą, vadinamą Vaiduoklių medžiu. Jis skirtas Latvijos roko grupei Livija. Paspaudę vieną iš mygtukų, esančių ant suoliukų šalia medžio, galite pasiklausyti šios grupės hito.

Mieste nėra daug žmonių, todėl net pietų metu, išėję į Pėsčiųjų gatvę, gražią gatvę pačiame miesto centre, galite pastebėti, kad čia nėra... nieko, išskyrus jus!

Liepojoje visada yra daug turistų, jiems yra ką pamatyti ir ką veikti! Dviračiai yra populiariausia transporto priemonė, o jei neturite savo, visada galite lengvai išsinuomoti dviratį vienoje iš siūlomų vietų. Dviračių ir bėgimo takai yra visur. Daug įvairaus amžiaus žmonių užsiima sportu, o tai yra geriausia motyvacija tobulėti.

Man svarbiausia, žinoma, yra paplūdimys ir didelis parkas, šalia kurio jis yra. Parkas yra beveik tokio pat ilgio kaip ir pats miestas, jis yra netoli jūros. Čia yra malonus švarus oras, kurį norisi giliai įkvėpti. Čia auga šimtamečiai įvairių rūšių spygliuočiai. Pats parkas yra labai gražiai ir originaliai dekoruotas, čia galima praleisti visą dieną. Jis vadinasi Jūrmalos centrinis parkas. Nerastumėte geresnės vietos poilsiui visai šeimai: daug patogių suoliukų, fontanų, gražių gėlynų ir vejų, jaukių kavinių, žaidimų aikštelė ir, svarbiausia, švariausias oras.

Na, o pats paplūdimys – tai tiesiog unikali pakrantė, kurios švarą ir tvarką visada palaiko komunalinės tarnybos. Tačiau vanduo dažnai būna šaltas net vasarą, bet labai švarus. Paplūdimys pakankamai platus, su švariu ir baltu smėliu. Kopos – tai puiki vieta tiems, kurie nori pasislėpti nuo stiprėjančio vėjo, gerai įdegti arba su šeima pasitraukti į vieną iš įdubų.

Manau, kad jis šiek tiek nusileidžia Jūrmalai, tiesiog ten įlanka ir jūra šiltesnės, o Liepojoje yra tokios pačios nuostabios erdvės kopos, kur kiekvienas gali pasislėpti ir kur galima žaisti paplūdimio tinklinį... Kiekvieną vasarą parke ir pačiame pajūryje rengiami įvairūs renginiai, koncertai, parodos ir įvairios kultūrinės programos. Manau, kad šiame mieste kiekvienas ras kažką sau.

Žaidimų aikštelės yra gerai parinktose vietose, todėl, mamytės, buvau rami, kad mano vaikas yra saugioje vietoje. Didelis kavinių, restoranų ir kitų įstaigų tinklo privalumas yra vaikų žaidimų kambariai, kur už papildomą mokestį galite palikti vaikus auklei ir ramiai praleisti laiką mėgaudamiesi skaniai paruoštu maistu.

Tai tik nedidelė Liepojos dalis. Pamilę šį miestą, jūs galite ten ištirpti. Žinodami kiekvieną jo kampelį, vis tiek rasite kažką, kas jus nudžiugins. Liepoja gyvena savo gyvenimą.
