Italian Days Festival In Weekend

Spring, the first buds on the trees, the first flowers that have bloomed. And the desire to do something outdoors. We have spent so much time indoors in the winter, hiding from the cold. And spring is beckoning us to go outdoors.

Although the weather was not pleasant, the Italian temperament and heat enchanted my town! All weekend we had Italian Days Fiesta. In the city - a sea of ​​flags. The Lithuanian and Italian flags merged into one colorful swirl. Italian music sounded in the city spaces attracted attention no less than the aroma of espresso.

Of course, our kids wanted to see the festival. And we said why not? The weekend for us is always the day for family needs and leisure time together. We were happy that we went there as it was a celebration that not only pleased our eyes, but also warmed our hearts. This festival was a true meeting of the cultures of two countries under the open sky.

Our weekend was full of clothes colors, Italian music, and so many emotions! We visited a painting workshop, listened to Italian melodies, watched people make masks, watched an acrobat walk a tightrope and there were many other fun performances. All of this turned into vivid photos on our cameras.

I was happy to see how many cheerful and happy people came to the celebration. And the little one, the young one, and the old man of mature age found something nice for themselves.

Italian Days – music, river and carnival magic! The weekend in Klaipėda was a real Italian celebration! Performers sailed on the river, and we sailed in our thoughts, watching them, listening to the exciting musical performance “O Sole Mio”, presented by opera soloists. With their voices ringing and the boat gently swaying, the moment turned into something like something from an old Italian movie – romantic, lively and unforgettable.

Probably everyone who has visited this amazing country says - it's simply impossible to forget it. A sea of impressions, which then gradually turn into pleasant memories and the joy of having visited such wonderful places. Italy is the first such distant, and now such a native country, the country where I went for the first time many years ago, and then returned there again, and still it is impossible to cover everything that you want to see with your own eyes, to touch, so to speak, history itself.

And for those who know its history and came here for the first time, this country, upon meeting, will seem like a dream come true, from which goosebumps will run down your skin and the feeling of a peculiarity will not leave.

So, everything that is related to Italy is a must-see, visit, touch for me too. It was like a little particle of Italy brought to my country for a short time. And I enjoyed it very much.

The culmination of the evening was the theatrical carnival “Dream of Venice”: colorful masks, movement theater performances, dances, pantomime, circus artists, young actors and musicians from all over Lithuania joined forces to turn our city into a real Venice on the Baltic for one evening.

The weekend was very eventful. What did the children like the most? Of course, the Venetian mask show and the pizzas, of which as many as 600 were baked for the townspeople. There were other Italian delicacies: pasta, macaroni, tiramisu. Theatrical bakers, wearing Venetian masks, baked and distributed the pizzas to the townspeople. It was an attraction for our children.

This festival reminded me again how beautiful Italy is. I really hope that acquaintance with that country has not yet been completed for me.
