Majestic Mountains of the Cordillera Range

The Cordillera mountain range traverses the provinces of Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga and Mountain Province, as well as portions of eastern Ilocos Norte, eastern Ilocos Sur...



The most common plants in the area are pine trees. Years ago, the trees suffer from illegal logging. It is a good thing that the government is more caring and guarding in the recent years.


Aside from pine trees, sun flowers are the most common plant sight in the mountains.


There are portions of the mountains that look like carpeted with greens. Those are chayote that the farmers let crawl across.

One sight that is amusing on these mountains are houses right beside cliffs. I wonder how the residents sleep. I just hope they stay safe.

One thing that I always wanted when traveling whether by land, air or sea, is to get a seat beside the window. That is because I love enjoying the view along the way and take lots and lots of photos. I was blessed to have gotten the seat I wanted during my previous travel.

It was fine sunny morning and was a perfect opportunity to take photos even from a running bus. It will be at least five hours of travel so that will be hundreds of photos of the Cordillera mountain range. I can upload max of ten at once on Liketu. 😊

My trip was from Baguio City to the Mt. Province. I was assigned a seat somewhere in the middle of the bus by the window side. When we were about five kilometers on our way, I noticed an empty seat on the second row beside the window. I asked the conductor if I can transfer and he asked the driver to stop. I wondered why, then he told me to go ahead to the vacant seat. How kind! He stopped the bus so I can transfer safely.

These photos, and many more from this same mountain range, look amazing to me. It reminds me of vastness of life with limitless opportunities that are just waiting to be explored. While I haven't got the chance to step into the forests myself, witnessing them with my own eyes for how many hours feel so refreshing. The sight make the long travel invigorating than tiring. They serve as my stress reliever and solemn escape in the middle of city noise and chaos. The views on the photos are so serene that just the sight of them are calming.

These photos also remind me of my childhood days. I was born in a mining site in the middle of the mountains though in a different province. I grew up there in a mountainous region where I learned a lot of life lessons which I carry even in my urban life for years longer than while I was in the mountain.
