The Role of Reflection in Learning

Looking at the mirror, sometimes we see things more than our face, so with the still water that reflects its surroundings. Quite often, some people disregard it, but those who have been doing it ever since before know how much it helps in learning.

Learning starts the moment we're born - from the first time we say our first word, how we learn to crawl and walk, and up to the present and the unforeseeable future. Part of it are the obstacles that no one has precisely known, but we still continue to be steadfast. We tend to reflect upon these things, and that's where we draw strengths sometimes.

Furthermore, despite how terrible things may have been in our life, we are never failed to be provided with a chance to reflect on what went wrong and what we could have done, so we can apply it and make it better next time. This is because learning from both happy and sad events makes us even stronger and more flexible in adapting to everything.

Hence, as a child, it's essential to learn to do it already. Not only will it make the young generations more responsible for themselves, but it will also help them develop a better outlook on life. It's best seen in the decision-making process, where they will be able to decide well what to do and choose and what is not.

To mention a little less negative about it, which we cannot deny really happens sometimes, many of us are still likely to get mired in the details of the procedure than to really seize the moment. But the ability to pause, learn more about oneself, and assess one's development and growth may lead to the emergence of new ideas and perspectives helpful in becoming our best version.

It's merely a mirrored image of what is considered real, but it does help us in various ways, not just in learning. It's not yet late to start doing such a thing to learn more and be able to not make the same mistakes again.
