The Sky Whispered & The Unexpected Photo Shoot Invitation

Macproperty(53).png

The rain had just stopped, my family just got back from an unexpected trip and I was cozying up on the couch, checking out the pictures I recently shot. The before and after rain.

Suddenly, our bell rang and there were unexpected guests.

They were teenagers in our neighborhood. It’s not the guest we normally see and we wondered why. The tall one, a boy in his 15 and seemingly “their leader” encouraged the girl to speak out.

“ Hello, can you.. You help us with our photo shoot” said the girl to me nervously.

The tall boy nudged on her shoulder, “ Can you be a little more polite? ”

It was so out of the blue and I was like, “ What, where, when?” I don’t have the habit of beating around the bush and just straight to the most important question; time and location. Since the timing seems to match my personal schedule and the location isn’t far away, I just said yes.

Last year, I helped the neighborhood with their carnival photo shoot that you can see over here. I guess words got around? It’s going to be my 2nd time helping around here and I am kind of excited for it.

The thing is, I rarely take pictures of a person. I just think that it’s a lot more hassle to take pictures of them than say nature or inanimate objects. Which is why, you often see me take pictures of nature, places and food more than people or human interest.

In the past, I did quite a bit of them and often find myself landing into the photographer's role whenever there’s an event. People seem to like the result of my photo but I never take that pretty seriously 😅I used to think it’s just a phase and maybe it is a phase.

Hive has helped me so much honing this hobby of mine. I get so proud yet sad when my pictures are featured on a famous website in the country yet I never receive any word about any permission. But as a hobbyist to get to that level, it’s one of my proudest moments.

I mean my work? With my lousy camera 😂and I got chosen? Sometimes I couldn’t believe it but I guess, I need to be a little prouder.

Recently, I haven't gone outside much. I just couldn’t seem to find the reason to go anywhere. The thing that made me wander was my love of coffee but now, I can have them in my tiny study room. So, why go outside?

Even from my balcony sometimes I can see a beautifully painted sky. If you love taking pictures of clouds or trying to find sunset inspiration, this little corner is where I normally sit and sky gaze. I’d love to paint again and one of these days, I should try to paint the beautiful sky that I’ve seen around me.

After those teenagers left, I felt excited but at a loss for words. I don’t know what the event would be or the stuff they’d be doing but either way, I’ll bring my camera and see if there are interesting stuff I could capture and share on hive.

See you around!

Thank you for reminding me that I have to harvest some Bougainvillae-Flowers - they're a great cough-medicine when turned into a tea, besides being beautiful motives for pictures.

As for the going out - yesterday, I was really hungover. Yet, I went to a party on a boat. It took me a little to get rid of the tiredness, but for a while there, I so much enjoyed and took more photos then in a long time. With my shitty cellphone camera.

This one, though a flag, is one of my favorites due to the separation of light and shades. I didn't touch it on the PC, that's how it turned out:

In this post are a few other pics. It was a very, very beautiful afternoon. But I fell to bed very tired :-D

How do you actually made them into tea? I have 2 big trees of them and other than used as a decoration, I am keen to know otherways to use them.

That pictures look so pretty, I'd be checking those out, the other pictures 😊

I just take the flowers, wash them well, and let them dry. Then I use 2-3 flowers per cup, usually mixed with something else for a better flavor. I let it simmer for 5min, and then take them out. The tea becomes somewhat black, which is normal. Really works well for Lily, when she has a cough. Our record now are 2 days to get rid of her cold :-)

Such a lovely read! I could totally picture the sky shifting and that unexpected shoot sounds like such a fun twist to your day. Love how you just went with the flow—those are usually the best kinds of memories!
Thanks for sharing!
