Last night, while I was just about to open my laptop, I received a text from Ray saying his partner is about to be delivering the baby. Reading that, I went to notify his older brother Reno to go to the hospital. Thankfully, the hospital is nearby and when we arrived, Ray’s partner was still in the ICU and was waiting for her to get to the delivery room. Inside the ICU, I felt strange, I just can’t explain but also felt sorry because the mom was in so much pain. Since there were only the 3 of us, it was a little hectic. We’re all still young and it was our very first time to ever deal with such a thing.

Honestly, our family got to know about the pregnancy pretty late. Ray didn’t tell us until his gf was 8 months pregnant. Had we known it earlier, we could have helped prepare a lot of things. But anyhow, our family tried the best we could to help him and his new family.

It took about an hour before the baby was born. We were waiting through the whole process but at 9 PM, a baby girl was born. She has the look of Ray and we’re grateful that she was born without complications, normal and healthy. I stayed at the hospital until almost 1 AM and made sure the mother and everything settled down.

It’s my first time being so excited about being an aunt. Afterall, compared to my other cousins, Ray has been one of my closest. So, it’s why I feel a lot closer and more connected to his daughter than my other niece and nephews.

Somehow, at the same time, while we’re mourning the loss of my grandma, we are given a new family member. It’s something so unexpected but we’re grateful for this cute baby girl.

It's just like this time which happens to be troublesome for a woman. When everything goes well, it's very happy. Many many congratulations.

Congratulations! How cute😊✨
I had my son a few years ago, 4 months after I lost my beloved grandfather. I remember how the new life healed the emotional wounds for myself and my family.

Hi @macchiata, I'm so glad your niece was born healthy and without complications, the family found out in a very short time for the baby to be born. But I'm glad that those who could were present and Ray felt the support of his family.

Congratulations on being an aunt once again, thanks for sharing your experience. Greetings and hugs!
