Farewell Adventure: Asiatique Waterfront Wednesday Walk

A Wednesday Evening Walk

I am not usually in time for wednesday walk but this time, I am quite in time just because I am spending time with my friend before she’s leaving for India and I am leaving back home. Since it’s going a while before I can see her, we decided to spend time together exploring the farthest must-see with the Chao Praya Tourist Boat which is Asiatique waterfront.

Asiatique waterfront is located in Charoen Krung Road and there are multiple ways to get to Asiatique either by land or by the river. However, the most fun way to walk around Asiatique is by commuting through the river.

How to get there through the fun way!

I don’t know if there are more convenient ways to get there but we went through Sanam Chai MRT to Tah Tian Pier and taking the tourist boat for 30 Baht/each person. It will be a while before reaching Asiatique riverfront so while enjoying the view, my friend and I had chit chat and conserve our energy before reaching Asiatique.

This is one of the view from the tourist boat, Icon Siam. We didn't go here because I've been to that place for more than 4 times.

On the boat, I overheard diverse conversation including some Malay and Indonesian. From what I know in social media, Asiatique waterfront is a must-visit for them. So it’s no wonder that I heard a few Indonesians here and there. It was interesting but of course, me and my friend just speak in English and me in broken thai.

As soon as we landed, we saw a few restaurants. Apparently, according to my thai friend, food in asiatique are quite expensive. So, we didn’t buy any food from there but just walked around. However, if you want to buy souvenirs you can find knick-knacks as cheap as 10 baht.

We walked through the place which also has some Disney village and some Disney princesses. I think that in this place, they have some sort of exhibition for it. So, that’s why they have those display of it. But of course, we just want to walk around and see the famous Ferris Wheel.

Must See Ferris Wheel

We didn’t get the chance to ride that one but just circling around it and looking for a place to sit down. We eventually sit down and I am taking pictures of my friend. She was willing to be the front cover of this wednesday walk ;) and we also took a selfie together with her phone.

It was quite a bit hot even during the evening and they were many people around as well. But after walking around the area, now I understand why it’s quite popular for Indonesians. Since they love shopping,Asiatique is the perfect place to visit for them. It also has many interesting spots for taking pictures.

After circling around the place for more than 20 minutes, we went back to our place and looking for cheap dinner.

my friend definitely makes a good model :D

Everything in that place was kinda expensive and beyond our budget. But it was quite a nice walk and I have to say that now I unlocked more places to visit in Bangkok. I would also recommend this place to spend the evening if you’re looking for a night market to stroll, walk or checking out.

Hi Mac. I liked this night ride although I admit it would have been great to get the top view of the Ferris wheel, it still looks nice from below too. I hope you and your friend have had a good time 😃.

Greetings and happy Wednesday ❣️.

It's lively down there on an evening. The good think about Bangkok is that even in HiSo places, there's always food courts and cheaper options to eat, often on the street watching the world go by!

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend Mac :-)
