A Peaceful Escape to Hong Kong Park

The Start of a 14-Day Journey in.png
Hong Kong Park has so much to offer—it's almost as if it has everything your heart could desire. From our Airbnb apartment, we took a tram to the city and then walked just a few minutes to reach the park. Before leaving, we packed a few snacks and drinks, just in case we needed a little refreshment during our visit.

The moment we entered, we were amazed by how much there was to see. The park is filled with preserved trees and lush plants, stunning rock formations, and beautiful waterfalls cascading from a large man-made cave, creating a peaceful atmosphere that makes it the perfect place to relax and unwind.

We also discovered an ornamental garden, a man-made desert landscape, tranquil ponds, and many friendly animals. As one of the largest green spaces in Hong Kong, the park offers a refreshing escape from the busy city. There are countless things to explore, including the aviary, the plant conservatory, restaurants, scenic walking paths, and so much more. It is truly a place where nature and the city come together beautifully.

This cave was one of my favorite spots in Hong Kong Park. As soon as we stepped inside, it became noticeably darker, but we could immediately hear the soothing sound of the waterfalls echoing through the cave.

As I walked along the pathway, the cascading water created a gentle mist that lightly splashed onto us. It felt incredibly refreshing, especially after being out in the summer heat. During our visit, Hong Kong was experiencing hot and humid weather, so the cool air and refreshing spray from the waterfalls were a welcome escape.

The combination of the dimly lit cave, the sound of rushing water, and the cool mist created such a peaceful atmosphere. It was a simple but unforgettable experience that made us slow down, relax, and truly appreciate the beauty of nature in the middle of the bustling city.

I’m not sure if it’s visible in the photos, but in the center of the park you can see a newlywed couple. The bride was wearing a beautiful wedding gown, surrounded by their guests as they celebrated and took photos.

Hong Kong Park is located next to Cotton Tree Drive, a popular venue for wedding ceremonies and wedding photoshoots. It was such a lovely sight to witness another couple celebrating their special day.

Coincidentally, we had also just gotten married that very day—our ceremony took place at the Municipal Hall.

This are just some of the ornamental plants inside the Plant Conservatory. But once we got inside, i could not contain my eyes anymore. The flowers are all vibrant, beautiful and looking healthy.

All I can say is that Hong Kong Park is an incredible place with so much to see and explore. Although there were many visitors, the park never felt overcrowded or chaotic because of its spacious layout and peaceful atmosphere.

One of my favorite areas was the pond, which was a wonderful place for couples, friends, and families to relax. We admired the beautiful lanterns surrounding the water and watched the colorful koi fish swimming peacefully in the pond.

Overall, our visit was absolutely worth it. Despite the warm and humid weather, the lush trees, beautiful plants, friendly animals, waterfalls, and stunning scenery made every step enjoyable. It truly felt like a peaceful oasis in the middle of the bustling city.

If we ever have the chance to visit Hong Kong again, I would love to return to this park—this time with our children so they can experience its beauty too.

Until next time, I'll be sharing the next chapter of our Hong Kong adventure. See you in my next blog!
