Three out of three! ^^ I know, I know! It is maybe not as impressive as finishing 31 prompts, but I love these artworks just the same! If anything, I did not hold back on adding even more details and careful planning. I gave them each slightly more time, and therefore more love and attention, if it makes sense. I could not be happier with them!
The last Inktober prompt I selected was onion. I wanted to draw a cute onion character. As I was sketching her, I felt she needed some friends, and thus the beetroot and carrot joined to keep her company. At that point, I looked at these goofy vegetables and thought to myself - well, they look like soup ingredients. Wait! What if they sat in the pot, like in a hot tub? I burst out laughing.
Isn’t that comical?! They do not need to know! They look oblivious too! xD

How many years have I been gardening? It is probably safe to say, over ten years or even more now. I have seen a fair share of veggies. I did not feel the need to do an extensive study of the mat the beginning of my search for the idea of what to draw. The main shapes were not an issue, however; the foliage was something I wanted to make more accurate (especially for the carrot), and I did a quick refresher from references before starting my own drawing. At some point, I would love to go out in nature more and pick up random things to draw while outside, and study them in depth. Some plein air time would be epic!

I love how different their personalities are, and how they shine through the expressions of their silly faces. I am super pleased with the result! I know, it is not perfect, especially from the perspective point of view, but I am not chasing that absolute perfection anymore. I am certainly not beating myself up because of it. There is more room for improvement and growth in the future.
Regardless, I love it! ^^

Here, the more detailed close-ups!

They shine! They spark joy! Right?!

I am glad I made this happen. This version of Inktober, where I pick and choose how much I can manage, is enjoyable. I would say, even more enjoyable! Right now, at least.

Proof of gardening!
My onions I grew this year! I tied the onions in bunches and hung them in the greenhouse to dry. As long as there is enough ventilation in the greenhouse itself, there should be no issues with mold or rot. Soon, they will find another spot for storage.

Can you tell I love gardening almost as much as doing the artsy stuff?

Our pumpkins! I had to harvest early due to frost and unpredictable weather. It is fine as long as they have a bit of color. They will likely finish turning orange indoors.

I am on the way home from the tropics. I wonder if my garden has completely fallen asleep by now!
Thank you for stopping by and having a peek at my creative endeavors! Of course, the
Hivefest logs are up next!
Much love!

mhm... and it's veggie soup season, also 🤤
Oh for sure! Once I get back home I am raiding the veggie cellar and making one! :) I will need it after the KL heat, I bet it is already cold in Europe?
yeah, it's slowly getting there... still well above freezing, though and the sun still has a little oomph left in it. Could be worse ;)
I love it. You should try illustrating children's book.
So nice root fruit friends, love the painting!
It is foolish to accept an invitation to a dip in a hot tub when you are a root vegetable.

Ļoti skaisti sīpoli! (un ne tikai tie)
PS. Are you going to Krakow in mid-November for another HiveBeeCon? We already have more Latvians in the Kingdom ;)
