Incredibly ordinary

I didn’t plan to stop for these flowers. I was visiting my wife's parents in a rainy day, dooryard already a bit wet, and my mind somewhere else. After the rain everything looks same at first glance, just green and quiet. Then these small white flowers pulled me closer. They were standing inside their pots quietly, maybe enjoying the weather.

I kneeled a little, got closer and closer. Water drops were still holding on the petals, like they didn’t want to leave yet. Some petals were already tired, slightly broken, not perfect. I liked the wet blend. Sometimes perfect shaped flowers feel distant, like they are posing. These ones were not posing at all.
I tried different angles, sometimes too close, sometimes stepping back. In one frame the center looks strong and alive, in another the background takes over and control the scene.

There was no wind, no rush. Only small movements of leaves and a soft light coming after rain. I noticed how green becomes deeper after water, and white looks more honest. No need for extra colors.

While shooting, I forgot time a bit. I wasn’t searching for “a good photo”. I was just following what feels calm. Maybe that’s why these images feel close to me. They don’t explain anything. They just stay.

When I left, I didn’t feel like I captured something special. But later, looking again, I realized this was the point. Ordinary flowers, ordinary moment, ordinary walk. Still, it stayed with me longer than expected.
All the best...

Ordinary is not always bad and these flowers prove it. Nice shots @m1alsan.
