Fishing, farewell, minarets and the bridge

Here are some images I took some time ago. I fetched them from my hard drive. Not really old, may be 1-2 years old at most. When I look back to these photos, I remember how simple moments can stay strong in memory. These four pictures are from different times, but they all carry same feeling for me: calmness and a little piece of silence.

Farewell

The first picture above was taken at the seaside. A man was fishing while the sun was going up. I was not fishing myself, only standing there with my camera. I didn't want to disturb him but I had take this picture. To be honest I was hunting for stories, and came across this old man, and couldn't resist the urge. The orange light was falling on the water and I felt like time slowed down. In the second picture above, is again the seaside, but this time the clouds were heavy. May be a mother and the son were walking on the wall, and the horizon was very soft. The ship was in the distance, blurred. May be the father is sailing away. Only the clouds witness to this heavy mood. That view gave me also a sense of sorrow.

Minarets

The third photo is one of my favorites. The mosque minarets stand tall, and the sun was exactly between them, like it was designed for that moment. I waited some time for the sun to fall in right position. After several shots finally when I pressed one more time the shutter release, I felt lucky. The color of the sky was burning orange, and the silhouettes made a strong contrast. I loved the bird flying next to the minarets. Even if I was looking directly to the sun through LCD screen, I must admit that my eyes were a bit tired and felt itchy. I needed some hours to recover :)

Bridge

The last photo is black and white. It shows the stone bridge and behind it again the mosque. I chose monochrome because the light was already soft, and I wanted to give an old feeling. The texture of the bridge stones became more powerful in black and white. And I believe the car creates a very strong contrast among these historic structures...

When I see these photos together, I think they are not only about buildings or landscapes. They are about how I was feeling while watching them.

All the best...

Excellent photos, but since I'm a B&W lover and loved looking at this one especially...

It has a wonderful vertical composition work, with a breathtaking repetitive rhythm in the vanishing point generated by the bridge, and the silhouettes supported by that soft contrast... Everything looks very good in this photo, applause for you!
