Monomad Challenge - The Farmers in the Rice Field
Hello, good day hivers! This is my entry for #monomad challenge.
I live in an area surrounded by rice fields. You can see these green, lush fields every morning, but when the rice is harvested, they turn brown and eventually wither, because they stop the distribution of water for this particular season. It’s a waiting game for another round of land preparation and the sowing of new rice plants.
What fascinates me is the hardworking nature of the farmers. Even under the scorching sun, they persevere, taking breaks only to continue their daily tasks. I captured a photo of them in black and white to showcase their routine every afternoon: drying rice and preparing it to be placed in sacks for milling.
On a particularly hot afternoon, I approached them to chat. They were all very lively and eager to talk. Even in the bright sunlight, their happiness shone through their faces. They shared that the dried rice would be transported to the next town for processing into edible white rice, which would then be sold nearby. Additionally, they kept some of the rice for their consumption.
This boy is talking to me while I take these photos. He is very witty and asks me many out-of-this-world questions. Hahaha.
I was alone at home two weeks ago while everyone else went to Bukidnon. I was left alone because of my work, and they didn’t leave me any water, and even took the rice cooker, so I couldn’t cook anything. I decided to go to my neighbor and ask for some cooked rice and a viand. It's perfect timing because they cooked beef stew with Chinese chard (petchay). I was so happy, and these people never abandoned me.
This is the end of my blog, and I used my Oppo Reno 7 to grab these photos.
See ya! Love lots!
Thank you very much, @qurator! I will vote for you as a Hive witness. Where should I go to vote?
