Sunset Lake Vermillion Minnesota

Nestled in Minnesota’s Arrowhead Region, Lake Vermilion spans nearly 40,000 acres with over 1,200 miles of shoreline and 365 islands. Surrounded by the Superior National Forest, it’s a premier destination for fishing, boating, and wildlife viewing. Rich in Ojibwe heritage and iron mining history, the area blends rugged wilderness with charming resorts, making it one of Minnesota’s most breathtaking outdoor escapes.

This was the sunset on Lake Vermillion, known as the lake of the golden glow, the night before the 2015 Minnesota Governor's Fishing Opener which officially kicks the tourist season in Minnesota. I was invited my Explore Minnesota, the states tourism board to cover the event. Wow was it a great event and I was not disappointed by the golden glow.
