THE VASCO-DA-GAMA-TOWER (D/ENG/ESP) - A new entry for Photography lovers

Spaziert man auf dem ehemaligen Expo-98-Gelände in Lissabon (Portugal) dem Fluss Tejo entlang, ist das Gerippe des Vasco-da-Gama-Turms schon von weitem sichtbar. Mit seinen 145 Metern Höhe ragt er hoch über die umliegenden Gebäude und Bäume hinaus. Als Erinnerung an den portugiesischen Seefahrer Vasco da Gama, der Verbundenheit der Portugiesen mit dem Meer und dem Motto "Ozeane-ein Erbe für die Zukunft" der Weltausstellung 1998 wurde die Konstruktion einer Karavelle nachempfunden. Der Turm in Form eines Segels mit Ausguck und der Turmsockel wie der Bug eines Schiffes, welcher hinaus ins Wasser ragt. Der einstige Sockel wurde in Folge Unternutzung abgrissen und durch ein Luxushotel ersetzt. Und in der Aussichtsplatform hat ein edles Restaurant mit mindestens einem Michelin-Stern Platz gefunden.
Die Bilder habe ich mit meiner Nikon D5600 und dem Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro aufgenommen und mit Snapseed bearbeitet.

If you walk along the river Tejo on the former Expo 98 site in Lisbon (Portugal), the skeleton of the Vasco da Gama Tower is visible from afar. At 145 metres high, it towers high above the surrounding buildings and trees. As a reminder of the Portuguese navigator Vasco da Gama, the Portuguese people's bond with the sea and the motto "Oceans-a heritage for the future" of the 1998 World Expo, the construction was modelled on a caravel. The tower is in the shape of a sail with a lookout and the base of the tower is like the prow of a ship, jutting out into the water. The former base was demolished due to disuse and replaced by a luxury hotel. And in the viewing platform a noble restaurant with at least one Michelin star has found a place.

Si se pasea por el río Tajo, en el antiguo recinto de la Expo 98 en Lisboa (Portugal), el esqueleto de la Torre Vasco da Gama es visible desde lejos. Con 145 metros de altura, se eleva por encima de los edificios y árboles de los alrededores. Para recordar al navegante portugués Vasco da Gama, el vínculo del pueblo portugués con el mar y el lema "Los océanos, un patrimonio para el futuro" de la Exposición Universal de 1998, la construcción se ha inspirado en una carabela. La torre tiene forma de vela con un mirador y la base de la torre es como la proa de un barco, que sobresale en el agua. La antigua base fue demolida por desuso y sustituida por un hotel de lujo. Y en el mirador ha encontrado acomodo un noble restaurante con al menos una estrella Michelin.
