BEHIND THE DUNES (D/ENG/ESP) - A new entry for Photography Lovers

Noch immer verweile ich an der Westküste Frankreichs und geniesse den angenehm warmen Atlantik (23°C) mit seinen herausforden Wellen. Im Vergleich wirkte das Mittelmeer wie eine lahme Badewanne.
Doch nicht nur der Ozean bietet faszinierende Ansichten zum Anschauen und Fotografieren, auch die Zone zwischen dem scheinbar unendlichen Sandstrand und der fast bis zum Horizont reichenden Pinienwälder hat für mich seinen Reiz. Hier befindet sich eine Zone von Wanderdünen. Trotz scheinbarer
Trostlosigkeit können hier über 130 verschiedene Arten von Pflanzen, wie Seekiefern (Pinus pinaster), Hexenklau (Carpobrotus), maritimer Knötrich (Ononis respens ssp. maritimum), Immortelle (Helichrysum stoechas, davon gibt es auch auf Korsika überall) und Heidekraut (Erica scoparia) gefunden werden. Manchmal schiesst auch eine Yucca (Yucca gloriosa) aus dem Boden. Auch einige Arten Vögel oder Amphibien, welche aus kleinen Teichen manchmal hochkrabbeln,sind hier heimisch. Auch die trostlose Umgebung der Düne hat mich mit ihrem Holzsteg in ihren Bann gezogen. So lohnt es sich auf jeden Fall, nach einem Spaziergang im feinen Sand am Strand oder Bad im erfischenden Wasser des Atlantiks, die Zone zwischen Meer und Pinienwälder zu erkunden.
Eigentlich wollten wir auf unserer Reise an die Westküste Frankreichs auch die grösste Wanderdüne Europas, die "Dune de Pilat", besichtigen. Doch wurde diese Region im Hitzesommer 2022 von verheerenden Waldbränden heimgesucht, wobei viele Hektaren Wald, einige Campingplätze und Strassen dem Feuer zum Opfer gefallen sind.
Die Bilder habe ich mit meiner Nikon D5600 und dem Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro aufgenommen und mit Snapseed bearbeitet.

I am still on the west coast of France, enjoying the pleasantly warm Atlantic (23°C) with its challenging waves. In comparison, the Mediterranean seemed like a lame bathtub.
But it's not only the ocean that offers fascinating views to look at and photograph, the zone between the seemingly endless sandy beach and the pine forests that reach almost to the horizon also has its charm for me. Here there is a zone of shifting sand dunes. Despite the apparent
desolation, more than 130 different species of plants can be found here, such as maritime pine (Pinus pinaster), witch hazel (Carpobrotus), maritime knotweed (Ononis respens ssp. maritimum), immortelle (Helichrysum stoechas, of which there are also many everywhere on Corsica) and heather (Erica scoparia). Sometimes a yucca (Yucca gloriosa) also shoots out of the ground. Some species of birds or amphibians, which sometimes crawl up from small ponds, are also native here. I was also captivated by the desolate surroundings of the dune with its wooden walkway. So after a walk in the fine sand on the beach or a swim in the invigorating waters of the Atlantic, it is definitely worth exploring the zone between the sea and the pine forests.
Actually, on our trip to the west coast of France, we also wanted to visit the largest shifting sand dune in Europe, the "Dune de Pilat". But this region was hit by devastating forest fires in the heatwave summer of 2022, with many hectares of forest, some campsites and roads falling victim to the fire.

A veces, una yuca (Yucca gloriosa) también brota del suelo. Algunas especies de aves o anfibios, que a veces se arrastran desde pequeños estanques, también son nativos de aquí. También me cautivó el entorno desolado de la duna con su pasarela de madera. Así que después de un paseo por la fina arena de la playa o un baño en las vigorizantes aguas del Atlántico, merece la pena explorar la zona entre el mar y los pinares.
En realidad, en nuestro viaje a la costa oeste de Francia, también queríamos visitar la mayor duna movediza de Europa, la "Duna de Pilat". Pero esta región se vio afectada por devastadores incendios forestales en la ola de calor del verano de 2022, y muchas hectáreas de bosque, algunos campings y carreteras fueron víctimas del fuego.
