A SMALL WHITE VILLAGE ON THE HILL (D/ENG/ESP) - A new entry for Photography Lovers

Es war nicht nur ein Aufenhalt in Vejer de la Frontera (Warum die Gemeinde - Vejer de la Frontera, Conil de la Frontera - DE LA FRONTERA heisst, habe ich noch nicht heraus gefunden...). Wir waren bei unserem Zwei-monatigen Aufenhalt in Los Caños de Meca (Andalusien, Spanien) sogar zwei Mal in diesem für Andalusien typisch weissen Dorf.

It was not only a stay in Vejer de la Frontera (Why the municipality - Vejer de la Frontera, Conil de la Frontera - is called DE LA FRONTERA, I haven't found out yet...). During our two-month stay in Los Caños de Meca (Andalusia, Spain) we even visited this typical white Andalusian village twice.

No fue sólo una estancia en Vejer de la Frontera (Por qué el municipio - Vejer de la Frontera, Conil de la Frontera - se llama DE LA FRONTERA, aún no lo he averiguado...). Durante nuestra estancia de dos meses en Los Caños de Meca (Andalucía, España) visitamos incluso dos veces este típico pueblo blanco andaluz.

Und es schien wirklich alles weiss zu sein. Die Häuser, die Autos, die Pferde und der Hahn (Bild von Hahn vielleicht im nächsten Post). Und was mir auch aufgefallen ist, ist dass es immer hinauf oder hinunter geht, ausser man befand sich gerade auf einer waagrecht verlaufenden Strasse.

And it really seemed like everything was white. The houses, the cars, the horses and the rooster (picture of rooster maybe in next post). And what I also noticed was that it was always going up or down, unless you were just on a horizontal road.

Y realmente parecía que todo era blanco. Las casas, los coches, los caballos y el gallo (la foto del gallo quizá en el próximo post). Y lo que también noté es que siempre subía o bajaba, a menos que estuvieras en una carretera horizontal.

Aber es hat mir dort schon sehr gefallen. Am Rande des neueren Teils Vejers gibt es einen Mirador, von jenem man einen wunderbaren Ausblick auf den alten Teil Vejers mit Kirche und kleiner Burg im maurischen Stil, und um 180° gedreht auf den fernen Atlantik hat. Solche Aussichtspunkte mag ich sowieso, um mir vom Ort einen kurzen Überblick zu verschaffen. Hier beim Mirador kann man auch sehr gut aufs Land spazieren und dabei Windmühlen, Pferde und andere Bewohner Vejers entdecken.

But I really liked it there. At the edge of the newer part of Vejer there is a mirador from which you have a wonderful view of the old part of Vejer with its church and small Moorish-style castle, and turned 180° to the distant Atlantic. I like viewpoints like this anyway, to get a quick overview of the place. Here at the Mirador, you can also walk into the countryside and discover windmills, horses and other inhabitants of Vejer.

Pero me gustó mucho estar allí. Al borde de la parte más nueva de Vejer hay un mirador desde el que se tiene una vista maravillosa de la parte antigua de Vejer, con su iglesia y su pequeño castillo de estilo morisco, y girada 180° hacia el lejano Atlántico. De todos modos, me gustan los miradores como éste, para tener una visión rápida del lugar. Aquí, en el Mirador, también podrá pasear por el campo y descubrir molinos, caballos y otros habitantes de Vejer.

Im neuen Teil Vejers, auch ganz in weiss, findet man Supermärkte, Bars, Restaurants und Wohnfläche. Der alte Teil ist unter halb von Kirche und Burg angesiedelt, und verlockt mit seinen kleinen, schmalen und verwinkelten Gassen zum spazieren. Überall gibt es kleine Lokale, die kulinarische Köstlichkeiten anbieten.

In the new part of Vejer, also all in white, you will find supermarkets, bars, restaurants and residential space. The old part is located under half of the church and castle, and tempts you with its small, narrow and winding streets to take a walk. Everywhere there are small eateries offering culinary delights.

En la parte nueva de Vejer, también toda de blanco, encontrará supermercados, bares, restaurantes y espacio residencial. La parte antigua se encuentra bajo la mitad de la iglesia y el castillo, y tienta con sus callejuelas estrechas y sinuosas a dar un paseo. Por todas partes hay pequeños restaurantes que ofrecen delicias culinarias.
