Visiting a place full of surprises

Hello, friends. Today I want to share with you my recent experience in the municipality of Taguasco, Cuba. Although it is not the first time I have visited this place, it was the first time I had the opportunity to visit this museum.

I discovered the existence of this museum recently, and I must admit that I did not have very high expectations. However, the best was at the end, I was pleasantly surprised. This museum is like a treasure trove of treasures, as it covers a wide variety of subjects.

From indigenous utensils found in the area, to agricultural tools used throughout different eras, the museum offers a fascinating insight into local history. I found myself in front of the first cogwheels used in the old sugar mill that still stands here, a testament to the region's agricultural past.

However, what most captured my attention were some beautiful canvas paintings at the end of the museum, telling the story of a local hero. These works of art, done by a local painter based in Spain, detail the life of the brave leader who fought tirelessly for Cuba's freedom from colonial rule during the 19th century. Interestingly, this hero was mortally wounded at Taguasco, and the paintings on display in the museum captured the essence of his sacrifice with an astonishing level of detail and color.

I would like to highlight not only the richness of the collection, where I was able to find banknotes of the Spanish bank on the island of Cuba or electoral postcards from the first half of the last century, something I had not found anywhere else. But also the incredible attention I received during my visit. The museum staff was exceptional, taking the time to talk to me and answer any questions I had. I felt truly welcomed and connected to what I could appreciate in this place.

My visit to the Taguasco museum was not only educational, but also exciting. It was more than I really expected, simple, yet welcoming and surprising. If you ever have the opportunity, do not hesitate to visit this unique place. Because without a doubt, it is one of the best places you will find.
