A Sunday in the Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda Park, Miranda State. Caracas Metropolitan Area

Good morning Hivers! Yesterday we spent a different Sunday, we visited the Generalissimo de Miranda park, old park of the east, I had about five years without visiting it, we started passing through the Altamira square and had breakfast here, Altamira is an area of many restaurants and many companies, but being Sunday people gather to climb the Avila Hill or to walk around here. We decided to go to the park.

We arrived around 9 am and as soon as we entered the park the atmosphere changed. The green of the park becomes one with the people who go to exercise, we could see groups of dance classes, people doing martial arts, seniors doing yoga, there was a group practicing salsa casino and children enjoying all these spaces. There is a small bazaar where you can buy water, energy drinks, and any other goodies.

We continued walking through the park and passed by the aviary, which although it is being remodeled still has some birds of our country (toucans, parrots and some crowned gruyas) then we arrived at the sector of the larger animals, we could see alligators, water dogs and capuchin monkeys. It should be noted that inside the park there is a serpentarium and an observatory to see the stars and space.

We were in at the lagoon and there we can see a replica of the schooner Leander, which was used by General Miranda to disembark in Venezuela, then we visited the new part of the park that has been open for about two years, there is an acoustic shell and several places to eat ice cream and coffee.

¡Buenos días Hivers! El día de ayer pasamos un domingo diferente, visitamos el parque Generalísimo de Miranda antiguo parque del este, yo tenia alrededor de cinco años sin visitarlo, empezamos pasando por la plaza Altamira y desayunamos por aquí, Altamira es una zona de muchos restaurantes y muchas empresas, pero al ser día domingo se reúne la gente para subir al Cerro el Ávila o para pasear por aquí. Nosotros decidimos irnos al parque.

Llegamos alrededor de las 9 am y al entrar ya cambia el ambiente. El verde del parque se vuelve uno con las personas que van a ejercitarse, pudimos ver grupos de clases baile , personas haciendo artes marciales, adultos mayores haciendo yoga , había un grupo practicando salsa casino y niños disfrutando de todos estos espacios. Hay un pequeño bazar donde se puede comprar agua bebidas energéticas y cualquier golosina.

Seguimos caminado el parque y pasamos por el aviario, que aunque está en remodelación aún tiene algunas aves de nuestro país (tucanes, loros y unas gruyas coronadas) luego llegamos al sector de los animales mas grandes, pudimos ver caimanes, perros de agua y monos capuchinos. Hay que ser notar que dentro del parque funcionan un serpentario y un observatorio para ver las estrellas y el espacio.

Estuvimos en la Laguna y allí podemos ver una replica de la goleta Leander, la cual fue utilizada por el general Miranda para desembarcar en Venezuela, luego visitamos la nueva parte del parque que tiene alrededor de dos años de abierta, allí funciona una concha acústica y varios sitios para comer helados y tomar café.
