## DE PASEO A LA COLONIA TOVAR (ES / EN)

Empezó mi mes favorito del año; no solo porque es el mes de mi cumpleaños; sino también porque es la época de celebrar la Navidad, la natividad del nuestro Señor Jesucristo. ¡Me encanta la Navidad! Época en la que todas las calles, casas, plazas, centros comerciales, restaurantes y demás lugares, se transforman en algo brillante y mágico que nos contagia a todos de alegría y esperanza.

Justamente para sentir esa magia festiva, mi prima Dorianna me regaló de cumpleaños un paseo a la Colonia Tovar para disfrutar de la alegría y el compartir de la navidad en un ambiente totalmente diferente. Junto a la agencia @coquitotours, organizó un grupo y nos fuimos de parranda para ese hermoso lugar montañoso, ubicado a unos 65 km al oeste de Caracas.

En este post, te muestro fotográficamente cómo la pasé en mí recorrido junto a nuevos amigos que conocí, personas maravillosas y alegres, que sin duda alguna tienen, como yo, el espíritu navideño que despierta corazones y contagia.

La Colonia Tovar es un hermoso pueblo de origen alemán, fundado en 1843 por un grupo de inmigrantes alemanes que emigraron de Alemania, huyendo de la agitación social que se vivía en esa región de Europa, y particularmente en su país de origen, por el llamado proceso de unificación alemana que provocó que cientos de personas del campo migraran a otras naciones.

Con el tiempo, La Colonia se convirtió en un destino turístico popular gracias a una hermosa arquitectura al estilo bávaro, a un clima fresco y agradable de montaña, a su cultura al estilo europeo, una deliciosa gastronomía, la artesanía y, por supuesto, a la amabilidad de su gente.

Por ahí dicen que la Colonia es: “la Alemania del Caribe” ¡jajajaja!; lo cierto es que es un paseo que debes hacer algún día, si no lo has hecho aún, y ver por tí mismo esas casas de maderas con techos empinados, a dos aguas, calles empedradas, jardines llenos de flores de muchos colores blanco y violetas, degustar las cervezas artesanales (yo te recomiendo la de mora, es buenísima). Ahorita, está vestida de navidad y luce realmente preciosa la pequeña ciudad.

FROM A WALK TO THE TOVAR NEIGHBORHOOD

My favorite month of the year has begun, not only because it is my birthday month, but also because it is the time to celebrate Christmas, the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. I love Christmas! It is a time when all the streets, houses, squares, shopping malls, restaurants, and other places are transformed into something bright and magical that fills us all with joy and hope.

To experience that festive magic, my cousin Dorianna gave me a trip to Colonia Tovar for my birthday so I could enjoy the joy and sharing of Christmas in a totally different environment. Together with the agency @coquitotours, she organized a group and we went on a trip to that beautiful mountainous place, located about 65 km west of Caracas.

In this post, I'll show you through photos how I spent my trip with new friends I met, wonderful and cheerful people who, like me, undoubtedly have the Christmas spirit that awakens hearts and is contagious.

Colonia Tovar is a beautiful town of German origin, founded in 1843 by a group of German immigrants who emigrated from Germany, fleeing the social unrest that was taking place in that region of Europe, and particularly in their country of origin, due to the so-called German unification process that caused hundreds of people from the countryside to migrate to other nations.

Over time, La Colonia became a popular tourist destination thanks to its beautiful Bavarian-style architecture, cool and pleasant mountain climate, European-style culture, delicious cuisine, crafts, and, of course, the friendliness of its people.

Some say that La Colonia is “the Germany of the Caribbean” ha ha ha! The truth is that it's a trip you should take someday, if you haven't already, and see for yourself those wooden houses with steep, gabled roofs, cobblestone streets, gardens full of colorful white and purple flowers, and taste the craft beers (I recommend the blackberry one, it's delicious). Right now, it's decked out for Christmas and the little town looks really beautiful.
