Aloe
Probably I will not be mistaken if I write that Aloe is liked by a lot of people.
And that almost everyone has it.
Someone keeps it as a medicinal plant, and someone because they like its flowering.
I am one of those who not only like this plant, but those who adore it!
Therefore, I could not calmly drive past Aloe, which grew by the road, next to someone's house.
Naturally, I stopped and took a photo of him.
Nice bloom, right?
And don't you dare contradict me! 😉
The photos I were taken with a Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L tablet

And I photographed this Aloe when I went to the park.
It grows across the street from him.
It struck me with its height.
Probably 3 meters in height, although maybe a little more.
I have never seen Aloe higher than this.

Your first one is probably Aloe ferox, native to my country but the second is actually an Agave, native to Southern USA and these types are monocarpic, they flower and then die. That large flower stalk is typical of monocarpic Agave species
Thanks a lot!
It's good that you told me that this is Agave, otherwise I would continue to think that this is Aloe and tell how tall it is 😆 👍
Aloe ferox is the Hulk of the aloes! It the only cactus, which iam sure it dont has any problem whith the environment temperatures in the winter! You see in Greece and especially in the city where i live in winter, the temperature usual are about 2°- 4°, but for a few days are even -6° to -10°!
There are quite a few succulents that can handle cold like that, it just depends how the winters are where they evolved. Many aloes can handle severe cold
Yes this is the most impressive about this plant
In Cyprus, unlike Greece, there are no such "low" temperatures in winter :-)
There are no such low temperatures in Cyprus in winter 😉
I was in your city a few years ago.
I really liked Thessaloniki!!!
You are very welcome Ludmila! 😊
I see many of these agave plants and the tall flowers they have here in Spain. Pity they dry later...
Yes, it's not fair: it faded and died 😒
yeah, it is sad to see, after they bloomed so nicely...
Probably now I won't see them bloom for a long time.
They live for at least 10 years before they flower and make lots of babies so it's not much of a loss when one dies. All those plants around it are the clones of the original plant
Yes, I was surprised by the number of shoots
