Hace un montón de tiempo que no iniciaba un post con una pregunta. Y como a mí me encanta hablar de diseño gráfico y ese tipo de cosas, ya que es mi carrera y mi profesión, hoy tenía muchísimas ganas de contarles un poco de lo que estoy viendo. Hace poco me enviaron como una asignación a realizar una composición gráfica que transmitiera un sentimiento o una emoción. La idea de esto era utilizar combinaciones de colores utilizando armonía de color. Esto es algo que se ve cuando estamos viendo la teoría del color, y es algo sumamente esencial en el diseño gráfico.

It's been a long time since I started a post with a question. And since I love talking about graphic design and that kind of thing, as it's my career and my profession, today I really wanted to tell you a little bit about what I'm seeing. Recently, I was given an assignment to create a graphic composition that conveyed a feeling or emotion. The idea was to use color combinations based on color harmony. This is something we learn about when studying color theory, and it's extremely important in graphic design.

Particularmente yo soy una persona muy sencilla, es decir, yo lo que siento, lo transmito, no me complicó mucho la existencia y generalmente tiendo a irme por el sentimiento más fuerte, cuando tengo un diseño libre y quiero transmitir algo. En mi primera ilustración, que estuve entregando, estuve haciendo un retrato ilustrado de mí mismo, y de las cosas que más me gustan Que me quedó bastante lindo, y también se los comparto acá para que puedan verlo, pero en esta nueva oportunidad, pues quería transmitir algo que fuese muy mío, pero que también fuera fácil de entender y obviamente la emoción que quise escoger fue el amor. El hombre es un sentimiento muy bonito, y eso es lo que he dicho siempre, lo sostengo, y aunque para muchas personas, el amor no significa tristeza o eventos trágicos para mí, no lo es. Con este diseño o esta composición, lo que yo quise transmitir con esos corazones tan distintos, fueron las diferentes formas de transmitir el amor. Algunos de estos corazones tienen sonrisa, otros tienen alas, y otros se representan como burbujas con diálogo, esto básicamente refuerza la idea de que el amor no es un sentimiento homogéneo, sino una experiencia muy diversa, que se da en múltiples formas.

I'm a very straightforward person, meaning that I convey what I feel. I don't complicate things too much, and I generally tend to go with my strongest feeling when I have a free design and want to convey something. In my first illustration, which I submitted, I made an illustrated portrait of myself and the things I like most. It turned out quite nice, and I am also sharing it here so you can see it, but in this new opportunity, I wanted to convey something that was very personal to me, but also easy to understand, and obviously the emotion I wanted to choose was love. Love is a very beautiful feeling, and that's what I've always said, I stand by it, and although for many people, love does not mean sadness or tragic events, for me, it does not. With this design or composition, what I wanted to convey with these very different hearts were the different ways of conveying love. Some of these hearts have smiles, others have wings, and others are represented as speech bubbles, which basically reinforces the idea that love is not a homogeneous feeling, but a very diverse experience that comes in many forms.

Por otro lado, el estilo tipográfico de este diseño es bastante desenfadado y está rodeado de símbolos, que van desde un eje central, el cual es la palabra básicamente. Y les estaba hablando al principio sobre la armonía de color, yo estuve escogiendo, colores análogos, como lo son el rosado, el rojo y el rojo naranja, que son tonos cálidos que evocan emociones, asociados a la pasión, la ternura y todas esas dimensiones del amor. La verdad, este día en esta actividad estuve destacando porque fui la única emoción, feliz, básicamente que se presentó en clase. La verdad es que todo el mundo que la vio, dijo que se parecía bastante a mí, y pues me siento bastante contenta de haber logrado eso. Así que para responder a la pregunta del título, yo creo que sí, es fácil representar el amor en una composición gráfica, nos leemos pronto!

On the other hand, the typographic style of this design is quite casual and is surrounded by symbols, ranging from a central axis, which is basically the word. And I was talking to you at the beginning about color harmony. I chose analogous colors, such as pink, red, and orange-red, which are warm tones that evoke emotions associated with passion, tenderness, and all those dimensions of love. The truth is, I stood out in this activity because I was the only emotion, happy, basically, that was presented in class. The truth is that everyone who saw it said it looked a lot like me, and I'm quite happy to have achieved that. So, to answer the question in the title, I think yes, it is easy to represent love in a graphic composition. See you soon!
