Si bien recientemente terminé la saga "De Sangre y Cenizas", aunque realmente es un término momentáneo, ya que me falta por leer el libro que aún no se ha publicado con el final de la serie. No quise desaparecerme del universo de Jennifer L. Armentrout y mucho menos de lo que es el universo de esta historia. Es por ello que vengo a contarles un poco de lo que es el spin-off titulado "De Carne y Fuego", la historia de los dioses antiguos, los primigenios y de dónde vienen la historia de Kolis, el recién despertado en el último libro de "De Sangre y cenizas", aunque de eso hablamos luego.

While I recently finished the saga "Of Blood and Ashes", although it is really a momentary term, since I have yet to read the book that has not yet been published with the end of the series. I didn't want to disappear from Jennifer L. Armentrout's universe and much less from the universe of this story. That is why I come to tell you a little of what is the spin-off entitled "Of Flesh and Fire", the story of the ancient gods, the primordial and where the story of Kolis, the newly awakened in the last book of "Of Blood and Ashes" comes from, although we'll talk about that later.

Para ser honesta, cuando leí el título no lo entendí mucho, hasta que casi llegando al final todo tuvo sentido. Pero, el comienzo, trata sobre Seraphena Mierel, una doncella con un solo proposito: se la consrote del Primigenio de la Muerte, hacer que se enamorara y matarlo para honrar un trato que hizo su antepasado y así lograr la salvación de sus tierras. Pero, a la hora de la verdad, el primigenio rechaza a Seraphena, y esta pasa a ser una más en el reino, sobreviviendo y siendo la oveja negra de la familia. Pero, Sera conoce a un Dios y se ve envuelta en varios eventos llenos de aventura, intriga y también algo de diversión en su vida. Y es en un moemnto crucial donde se entera de que ese Dios misterioso relamente es Nyktos, el Primigenio de la Muerte.

To be honest, when I read the title I didn't really understand it, until near the end when it all made sense. But, the beginning, it's about Seraphena Mierel, a maiden with a single purpose: to be the consort of the Primordial of Death, to make her fall in love and kill him to honor a deal her ancestor made and thus achieve the salvation of her lands. But, at the moment of truth, the primordial one rejects Seraphena, and she becomes one more in the kingdom, surviving and being the black sheep of the family. But, Sera meets a God and gets involved in several events full of adventure, intrigue and also some fun in her life. And it is at a crucial moment that she learns that this mysterious God is actually Nyktos, the Primordial of Death.

Al Nyktos reclamar a Sera y honrar el trato, se la lleva a las tierras umbrias, en el mundo de los dioses, donde intentan llevarse bien, Sera aprende de ellos, y en un punto llegan a quererse. Pero su historia es más complicada que eso, la verdad es que entre ellos hay muchos secretos y cosas que mejorar. Y más aún cuando se enteran de que Seraphena lleva unas brasas del primigenio de la Vida en su interior, por lo que puede ascender y convertirse en algo más. Con Nyktos nos enamoramos en cada momento, por lo menos en mi caso. Es tan intenso y pasional que te quedas loca, un personaje increíble, igual que los dioses que habitan en su reino. Y con Sera, ella es fuerte, es valiente, pero no le importa mucho su vida y eso es un poco desesperante, aun así se conecta mucho con su personaje.

As Nyktos reclaims Sera and honors the bargain, he takes her to the Umbrian lands, in the world of the gods, where they try to get along, Sera learns from them, and at one point they grow to love each other. But their story is more complicated than that, the truth is that between them there are many secrets and things to improve. And even more so when they learn that Seraphena carries some embers of the primordial of Life inside her, so she can ascend and become something more. With Nyktos we fall in love at every turn, at least in my case. He is so intense and passionate that you go crazy, an incredible character, just like the gods that inhabit his realm. And with Sera, she's strong, she's brave, but she doesn't care much about her life and that's a bit desperate, still you connect a lot with her character.
