When The Road Gives Up To The Rain - SMARP 270

At first glance at this photo, you'd think this is a lake somewhere off the beaten path. The water is still, the palm trees are reflected perfectly, and the grass looks like it’s growing out of a riverbank. Everything looking peaceful and beautiful.
Unfortunately, it's not. But a part of my street, or what’s left of it after the rains have overtaken it.
I’ve written before about how the road leading to my house gets waterlogged when it rains, this one is worse. Every rainy season, this spot a few blocks from my house turns into something else entirely. The road disappears under brown, waterlogged pools. The grass grows taller, the mud gets deeper, and suddenly you’re not walking to the other side of the street — you’re wading through it.

With blocks stacked against the fence, a makeshift path is created to keep one from stepping straight into the flood.

Luckily, it’s not the one I use daily. But sometimes, if I need to cross to the other street, I pass through here and remember: this is what “rainy season” actually means around here. Lol.
The focus of this post isn't actually the flooded road, nah. But... the reflections. I hope your eyes would move past the water on the road and settle on the beautiful reflections instead.
