Picture A Day: The Church Bell

Hello friends, I hope you all are doing well.

Glad to be here again to share this picture with you, 'the church bell* which I captured in one of the local churches, Anglican Church precisely, in Amuha village, Abia State, Nigeria.

This chuch bell has hung on this tree for decades, diligently doing it's duty of sounding to reminding worshippers that it was time for service and inviting non worshippers to church.

Whenever the bell is rung, it's sound usually reaches the nooks and corners of the village and with the last ring church service starts.

Yes it is. I remember those days when upon hearing the sound of the bell, some people will start hurrying and running to church so they can beat the last ring 😅

I remember those times as well. Those were days when no one was begged or cajoled to attend worship service in church.

Wow. The ancient bell 🤭😅. I didn't grow up to meet this, but I have read quite a number of stories about bells, and how they are a source of pulling people to a place ✨.
