Feathered Duos - SMAP 265
For this round of the Feathered Friends contest, we're to share photos that capture two birds in one frame. So I've got a couple of photos to share with you.
This morning, I had a hilarious moment with two Starlings in my neighborhood. They were perched on an electric wire, having a time of their life, squeaking away, and I decided to join in – mimicking their tweets.
And you know what, as I kept mimicking, in that "kweeky kweeky" - rather squeaky sound, they became even more curious. They'd look down, tilt their heads, trying to figure out where the sound was coming from. Lol.
It got to a point where one of the birds moved a little bit away from the other. Apparently, it wanted to pinpoint the source of the mysterious sound because they were sure it wasn't from either of them. Who knows, they may have decided to split up so they could carry out a proper investigation individually and apprehend the intruder, which was me. 😂
Starlings are known to be among the world's most famous talkative and weird-sounding birds. Once they're around your space, be ready for a communal chatter that usually sound slike a busy market. They're simply noise makers - literally. You know what, they're good listeners too, and can perfectly imitate other sounds they hear while perched on those wires - human whistles, snippets of speech, car alarms or sirens, and more.
Getting a clear shot of the birds was kinda difficult due to their height on the electric wire. And again, I couldn't figure out if they're the Purple Gl glossy Starling, the Blue-eared Starling, or the Black-bellied Starling since they were looking mostly black up there. They might even be a couple, who knows.
And here we have the photos of two crows I captured a few weeks ago. Just like the Starlings, they were enjoying each other's company, their "caw caw" call, echoing through the neighborhood. Guess what; I mimicked them too. Lol.
Sometimes, it's the simple things in life that bring the most joy. Like when you take a walk in a garden or a nature park, or the beach, or even mimic a bird's tweet, and it looks down at you like "who's there?" Lol.
Wrapping up with my ramblings, I'd like to ask: Have you had a convo with a bird before? And what simple thing made you smile today?

😂😂, now we are the same. I love mimicking birds when they're making there sounds. I can't stop laughing with how you said the starling birds make space between eachother to find out who's making the sound you were making. Honestly, birds are beautiful including their while making their sounds.

How I love doing this whenever I get the chance. And it's not only bird o, dog and squirrels follow too. 😂

I love the picture of the Crow, the way they opened their mouth to shriek, talkative birds they are.
I love it too, was just capturing them randomly, turned out I captured them when they were screaming down the neighborhood. 😂

Starlings are really very noisy and I was confused not once when hearing them. They are so good imitating other sounds.
