Hello my friend😊, today I will introduce you to the southern area of Monte Bove, in the province of Macerata in the Marche region on the border with the Umbria region, we are in the center of the mountain range and the Sibillini mountains national park.

Castelsantangelo sul Nera Camosci 4.jpg

I decided to take a walk up here because the landscapes are beautiful and with a little luck you can encounter wild animals which is always a wonderful thing.

In particular I would like to meet the chamois that I have never seen, in this area there are about a hundred specimens, they say that when they meet the man and get too close they immediately flee so ... let's go !!!

I set the navigator on my car, I head to Frontignano, a fraction of the municipality of Ussita, in fact, Mount Bove south is on the border between the municipalities of Ussita and Castelsantangelo Sul Nera.

From where I live it's about 110 kilometers for almost 2 hours of travel.

Once I arrived in Frontignano, I parked my car and following the directions, I began to take a fairly comfortable dirt road and then continued the journey among the peaks of these areas.

How nice, the landscapes you see are beautiful, the trees have the colors of autumn.

During the walk I meet wild horses, it is a wonderful experience to see these large animals that I have usually seen in captivity on farms etc ... in total freedom, you can see that they are happy, how beautiful!!!!

Some stretches have overhangs, you need to be careful as always because gusts of wind and sudden thunderstorms can occur.

During the route you first arrive at the top of Monte Bove and then continue on the tops of the mountains until you reach the top of Monte Bove Sud, the whole route on these peaks is about 10/11 kilometers long.

Arrived in the southern Monte Bove area, I finally meet them, what a thrill!!!
I meet a group of Chamois, they notice me from afar, they stop and look at me, waiting for my movement, luckily I manage to take some photos before they start to move away feeling threatened by my presence!!!

For those who love to see animals in their habitat, it is wonderful to have this type of encounter.

This time I was lucky, it was a moment that I will always remember, after all the road I have traveled I was really lucky… it is estimated that in all these mountains live only about one hundred specimens of this beautiful animal.

I'm going home with my car after this experience and during the journey I think about how beautiful this day was.

For those who don't feel ready (but I recommend it to everyone if you don't have much experience) by searching online you will find experts who organize guided walks in these places, they will show you the peaks and refuges.

Until next time my friend, greetings from the Marche region

All the photos were taken by me and what I tell is the result of my personal experience😀
