Picture Perfect: Exploring the World Through a Photography Activity

Good day, Hiver's! I'm happy to be back here to share with you guys a snap of my life! For today's blog, I will be posting a few pictures that I and my friends captured for our art subject.

This activity was given to us this week and we only have four days to compile all photos we did for our photography topic. Disclaimer, since we didn't have an expensive camera we just used my phone to do this task. We are also newbies and not professionals in terms of photography and we are only given a short time to make this stuff.

I and my friends are not expecting to have a nice result because we are in a rush and we also have a lot of things to catch up with. That's why we don't have free time to do this activity on weekends. After our teacher gave this project to us, we decided to do it right away.

It was instructed that we would have to create our pictures of the different kinds of angle shots. It was said by our teacher that we need to learn these skills in photography so that we can improve our creativity and to further know about ourselves. Plus, the teamwork and dedication we also had in making this a successful output without any troubles and difficulties ahead was a wonderful experience to keep.

Through this stuff, I have learned the importance of different angles to be used in taking photos. Additionally, this also helps me create a better image for my blog by experimenting with different angles that can be best and enhance a picture. In addition, because of this, I have also learned the importance of having a subject in a photo.

My teacher stated that the subject is the center of interest in a photography, that's why we must think of the things which can be best as a theme. It was also instructed to us that we can only do this activity within our school which means that all the pictures we will capture are under the promissory of our campus only.

We are disappointed by this since the nice spots there are limited, whereas if they allow us to go to the different areas outside the school we can take many wonderful and more beautiful subjects for our project.

But since we couldn't do anything with this, we just went with the flow and started capturing and experimenting with the different types of angle shots within our campus. He instructed us that every member should be seen with the photos we've taken so that their participation can be discerned as well.

High Angle Shot

This is the first photo we have captured and the view of this is basically a high-angle shot. From what my teacher has taught us the subject of this angle should appear diminutive and weak. To make this shot we input the camera into 0.5 and we capture the view above the subject to make us more smaller.

While taking the picture I and my friends couldn't stop laughing because there were many students from the other batches watching us because we took this on the covered court square, basically at the center of the school which means that there are many students saw us and in our part it's very embarrassing but fun at the same time.

Canted Shot

As you can see in the picture my two friends were posting with a camera slanted to make the photo look like it's tilted. This is a type of an angle shot where the camera is slightly slanting.

You can also see that my friends are trying to make a heart-shaped post but failed to do so. They are so adorable! We have actually taken this photo near our library area and you can see also that there are many trees around there.

Low Angel Shot
In this photo we decided that Lance, my friend would be the model for this type of shot, he is also the one who posed for the canted shot along with my other friend. As you can see this is more different compared to the high-angle shot since here, the camera is positioned lower and was taken beneath the eye level.

It also makes the subject more dominant. This is a very simple and unique style and we only take one snap to capture this photo. Lance is a great poser! This is also taken at the covered court area that's why the basketball ring is visible as well.

Plus, this shot is what I usually do when taking pictures alongside with straight-on shot. Additionally, if someone of you wants to take a low-angle shot, just make sure that it is below the eye level of the subject.

Full Shot
In this shot, it was said by our teacher that in this type we should make sure that the whole image and where it is positioned are shown. You will see in the picture that the subject which is my classmate is seen along with where she is positioned with. She is posing slightly slanted as well with her one foot a bit forward from one another which creates a little illusion of her being tall.

This was actually taken from the front side of our school which is the entrance path. Luckily, there are not many people passing by so it is easy for us to take this photo. There are also many plants and trees at the side of my classmate, that's our school mini garden.

Not only that but also in some corners in here are filled with plants as well. Also in relation to our lessons about photography through this picture, I've learned how important lines are. It was said by our art teacher that this is a visual elements that form visual impact too. I've concluded that it's better to have lines in some photos that will take just like in this picture.

Worm's Eye View

For this photo, we lay down the camera facing the trees to make the shot wider and the subject more dominant. Somehow, it's similar to a low-angle shot but the only difference is that the camera is set down to the floor level.

Bird's Eye View

IMG_20240121_115403.jpg

You will see in the picture that I and my friends are playing. We didn't notice that my other classmate had taken a photo of us while having fun. This is actually a perfect example of a bird's eye view shot because it is basically taken from an elevated point which creates a sense of enclosure.

Long Shot

Here you will see that the subject is placed in a wide view and this is what we call the long shot. The background is very visible and the subject as well is captured from head to toe.

Those are an example of different angle shots that my friends have taken. Thank you everyone for stopping by my blog! See you next time!
