Fal Animated Style

I started the process with a light sketch, letting my imagination shape the form of Fal as a chibi character. I played with proportions, making the head slightly larger to emphasize his cute and youthful appearance. The pose I chose was calm and sweet—standing under the night sky, reflecting his wise and gentle nature.

Comencé el proceso con un boceto suave, dejando que mi imaginación diera forma a Fal como un personaje chibi. Jugué con las proporciones, haciendo la cabeza un poco más grande para resaltar su ternura y aspecto juvenil. La pose que elegí fue tranquila y dulce, de pie bajo el cielo nocturno, reflejando su naturaleza sabia y apacible.

Next, I moved on to the lineart. This stage is always satisfying, as I can define the final shapes and commit to the character's silhouette. I made sure to add crisp outlines to the feathers and glasses, giving them a neat yet lively look.

Luego pasé al delineado. Esta etapa siempre me resulta muy satisfactoria, ya que me permite definir las formas finales y dar vida a la silueta del personaje. Me aseguré de añadir contornos definidos a las plumas y a las gafas, dándoles un aspecto pulcro pero lleno de vida.

The coloring stage was pure joy. I chose a warm palette of browns, creams, and muted greens to keep the natural look of an owl but with a soft anime glow. His eyes were my favorite part to color—I gave them depth and sparkles to highlight his intelligence and wonder.

La etapa de coloreado fue pura alegría. Elegí una paleta cálida de marrones, cremas y verdes suaves para conservar el aspecto natural de un búho pero con ese brillo suave característico del anime. Sus ojos fueron mi parte favorita para colorear: les di profundidad y destellos para resaltar su inteligencia y su asombro.

Then came the shadows, which I applied carefully to enhance the volume and give the character a subtle three-dimensional presence. I imagined the moonlight touching his feathers, so I added soft shadows under his arms and around his glasses.

Luego vinieron las sombras, que apliqué con cuidado para realzar el volumen y dar al personaje una presencia sutilmente tridimensional. Imaginé la luz de la luna tocando sus plumas, así que añadí sombras suaves bajo sus brazos y alrededor de sus gafas.

Adding highlights was the most magical part. I used bright tones on the edges of the feathers and sparkles in the eyes, creating that soft anime shine that brings everything to life. The light on his glasses added a touch of whimsy that I absolutely love.

Agregar los brillos fue la parte más mágica. Usé tonos brillantes en los bordes de las plumas y destellos en los ojos, creando ese resplandor suave del anime que da vida a todo. La luz en sus gafas añadió un toque encantador que me enamoró completamente.

Finally, I created the background—a peaceful forest night under the stars, with a glowing moon softly lighting the scene. The shadows and highlights in the background were designed to complement Fal’s colors without stealing focus from him.

Finalmente, creé el fondo: una noche tranquila en el bosque bajo las estrellas, con una luna brillante iluminando suavemente la escena. Las sombras y brillos del fondo fueron diseñados para complementar los colores de Fal sin robarle protagonismo.
