Hello friends of Hive, it is a pleasure to be with you in this opportunity. As it has become customary in my blog, my most recent post will address one of my trips to Old Havana. Specifically the motoring museum, an invaluable part of the culture of the habanero. Since, if we habaneros are known for something, it is for the use and conservation of classic cars.

By the way, I can tell you in advance that for this last month of the year, I will make a compendium of reviews of important places in Havana. Where I will focus on museums and renowned historical sites. Therefore, from this adventure through the world of motorsports, a route is traced that I hope my dear followers can enjoy by my side.

Returning to the subject at hand, I must be honest with you. First of all, I really didn't know of its existence. If it weren't for my boyfriend, I would never have known that such a place was based in the capital. Second, I know very little about cars, my knowledge was pretty basic. Since I only know a few brands, and a little about their basic operation.

So when I found out about the existence of it, curiosity sprouted within me. And we took the initiative to visit him. Running into several surprises. First of all, the museum is quite different from what I expected. Since it is composed of two garages. One of rather large proportions. And the other minimum. So it would be divided into two exhibitions.

The first sector, which in proportions is that of a normal garage. It shows us in perfect condition. One of the jewels in the crown of motorsports in Cuba. A 1949 DeSoto. Practically that car has been in Cuba for 73 years. Exhibiting a stunning image, as if he had arrived yesterday from his hometown; Chicago. I have to admit I was blown away as the car is a beauty, and for someone who doesn't know much about them I have to say I was wowed.

Later in the tour, we find the second area. Which is the biggest garage. It is made up of two segments. One that is closed for repairs unfortunately. And the other, which is open to the public. In which, mostly cars used in Cuba and donated by prominent figures are shown, at different times and stages.

Such is the case, that we can appreciate a French Peugeot from 2003. A very common one on the roads of my country. Model 106, and that belonged in life to nothing more than the historian of the city; Eusebio Leal Spengler. That in the form of tribute, this tribute was paid to him. Leaving a trace of him, in the museum.

Another relic is the Jaguar Sovereign v12 model. Originally from Great Britain, and which belonged to Nicolás Kay. Deputy Head of the diplomatic mission in Havana. And that later out of the ambassador himself. This donation took place at the end of the 2000s. As well as that of the Peruvian official José Torres Muga, who gave away his Chevrolet, Malibu Classic model from 1981.

Other models that are also found, already falling in the last century are. A 1930 Babey Lincoln, a 1926 Willys-Overland, and a historical marvel. A 1957 Maserati, model 300 s, from Italy, has the honor of telling us a story. Since that car was specially built for a 1999 feature film. In which the famous kidnapping of sprinter Juan Manuel Fangio is told, during the Cuban civil war.

The list is undoubtedly even longer, but I will leave you with this brief approach. Since as the old people say, nothing better than seeing them personally. For what I recommend, if you come to Cuba, take a walk through this unforgettable garage of history and cars. Before saying goodbye, I leave several cars headed by a beautiful Mercedes Benz.

Thank you so much for your support of my @v4vapp proposals in the past, my previous one expired this week.

I'd be really happy if you would continue supporting my work by voting on this proposal for the next 6 months:

Additionally you can also help this work with a vote for Brianoflondon's Witness using KeyChain or HiveSigner

If you have used v4v.app I'd really like to hear your feedback, and if you haven't I'd be happy to hear why or whether there are other things you want it to do.

My previous @v4vapp proposal has expired. I have a new one which is running but unfunded right now. I'm still running @v4vapp and all my other services but I may have to increase the 0.8% fee to 2.0% if I continue to be unfunded.

Please consider asking your friends to vote for prop #244 or consider unvoting the HBD stabilizer explained below.

For understandable reasons in the current crypto climate it is harder to get funded by the DHF, I accept this so I'm asking a wider audience for help again. I will also redraft this proposal with more details (coming soon). I'm also looking for other funding sources.

Additionally you can also help with a vote for Brianoflondon's Witness using KeyChain or HiveSigner

If you have used v4v.app I'd really like to hear your feedback, and if you haven't I'd be happy to hear why or whether there are other things you want it to do.

  1. The bar to be funded is set by the HBD Stabilizer, the more votes that has, the more votes @v4vapp needs to be funded. If you want to reconsider supporting that proposal and unvote it, that would also help me (and others so you have to weigh this choice.)
