Feeling totally brokenhearted at the outcome of a game...REALLY???
Someone who is more at home in the kitchen letting something like a football game get her down?
Sadly it does, time and time again, so off she goes and drowns her sorrows in the cooking pots!
I've come to realize, once again, (do we ever learn?) that in life as on the football fields, nothing is a certainty.
We can playfully take a gamble on which team is going to win, but when they lose despite all odds, it's NOT a good feeling and that's when I feel like putting my head in the sand and turning my back on the players who have let me and their other loyal fans down!
I was on top of the world just over a week ago, hubby won a shopping trolley dash which was real fun, although he had not been feeling well for a while already.
When the World Cup Football started, I managed to sit high up in a good position in the exciting @hivebuzz World Cup Contest.
However, as the days wore on, my luck turned.
Hubby's been my football advisor so when he became gravely ill and almost fell off the face of the earth, I could not bother him with football stats, so had to make my own choices. That's when my luck turned and my ranking started dropping!
I felt like running away from health scares and football woes!
The best news however is that when I ignored my man's self-diagnosis that it was possibly just indigestion or reflux; in fact anything under the sun except the obvious - heart problems, I took the bull by the horns and heeded the advice of a friend who once said to me:
It's easier to say sorry than ask permission!
I remembered that wisdom of my dear friend, and in the dead of the night made an online doctor's appointment.
Back to the game of the moment - football was out the window, but I still made my choices, taking chances on the wrong games, and as said, I'm now way down the rankings, but still hoping for a miracle!
Aren't we like that in life as well?
Taking chances with our lives despite the warnings and signs that we're about to make the wrong choice, as I spoke of in How Fragile is Life? Miracles do happen, but we should never take a chance when it comes to real-life matters!
In closing, as the saying goes, it's not all over until the last cock crows!

Hubby's on the mend, I'm just so thankful he's ok because he's not been himself for a long time.
Those farm animals are gorgeous, they're at a market we go to quite often.

It made me smile. It really is the truth. Asking for permission takes more time and energy. Do whatever you have to do and then just say sorry.
Is life anything without taking chances? I mean if we don't choose a way forward how can we go forward. We would stuck just where we are. We have choices and we have to choose something. It is just the time that reveals if the chance we took was worth taking or not.

I never knew of that trivia around the World Cup. It really has been nail-biting with so many upsets!
