They used to irritate me, now I just shake my head; their lives must be very empty! I still have to join local groups here.

With Poe happy and settled, no cats where you moved to perhaps time to install bird feeder with a bird bath to entice them into your new home.
Local in the village put up a long pole which he built with platform, loads up chicken necks for yellow-bill kites to visit. Some have become very relaxed with him around enabling him to hand feed on fly by.
Never interfere with the keyboard warriors, rather ignore!
